Keith Gross doesn’t know his age?

by Buzz Brockway on June 17, 2008

The curious campaign of Democrat Keith Gross gets even curiouser. Gross told the Secretary of State he is 24 yet his campaign’s MySpace page says he’s 27. Either he doesn’t know his own age or he’s aged 3 years in 3 months.

I think we should help Keith decide what his age is so here’s a poll.

Just goes to show you how much politics can age a person.

Doug Deal June 17, 2008 at 11:15 am

It all depends if you measure time in Florida, Maryland or Georgia years.

RuralDem June 17, 2008 at 11:15 am

Well, there’s also a chance that it’s an error on MySpace’s end. There are all kinds of issues going on with different users. I know a few people who have for instance Atlanta, GA as their location, yet MySpace has it as Atlanta, AL.

Also, you don’t know that HE is the one that set up the profile. It could have been someone within the campaign, and maybe they got it wrong.

Resorting to attacking someone’s MySpace in order to make a joke on a political blog is sad.

I know nothing about Gross, but as usual Buzz you choose to reach for something when there’s nothing.

If a Republican has an age error on their MySpace, I hope you put up one for them too. However, I doubt that’ll happen.

considering the rest of the circus that has surrounded this young man’s campaign this is a perfectly reasonable thing to make fun of him for–and i believe at least one gop’s myspace page was lampooned on this site rather recently…

“Resorting to attacking someone’s MySpace in order to make a joke on a political blog is sad.”

Good Lord ruraldem, our bar is much lower than that.

And in case you haven’t noticed, we jab at Republicans around here all the time. Check out a few of the weekend posts on Ralph Reed, for instance…

Joking about someone’s height would be out of bounds though.

Lighten up RuralDem. Poking fun at politicians and wannabes is loads of fun.

RuralDem June 17, 2008 at 12:05 pm

If he purposely lied about his age that’s one thing.

But, Buzz’s post is nothing more than a show of desperation. Looking up someone’s MySpace like this especially considering the errors on their side and the fact that you have no idea who made the page is simply sad.

Icarus and drjay

Buzz is a staunch partisan. Most of the other PP readers/posters have no problem going off on both sides. Buzz always finds a way to throw at jab at Democrats while looking the other way at the GOP.

Chris Farris June 17, 2008 at 12:06 pm

Exactly Buzz, its not like they have feelings or anything.

Icarus June 17, 2008 at 12:11 pm

RuralDem,

We all know Buzz is a staunch partisan. He also has a sense of humor. Methinks you might be just a bit overly sensitive today.

RuralDem June 17, 2008 at 12:24 pm

No way. I guess I’m just annoyed that I now have to skip over all of Buzz and SpaceyG’s posts to get to anything interesting :)

Hey at least he didn’t say he was single when he’s really married, which I understand was all the rage a few years ago for certain state reps.

drjay June 17, 2008 at 12:27 pm

what does this have to do w/ ga politics?

Mark Rountree June 17, 2008 at 12:29 pm

Georgia voter data says his birthday is October 19, 1983.

That would make him age 24.

…but it would still not make him a real resident of the district.

juliobarrios June 17, 2008 at 12:45 pm

If he gave out his age people would start knocking on his door wanting to ask him about it.

Icarus June 17, 2008 at 1:14 pm

+ 2 points for juliobarrios

Eeeek! The sec of state gives away too much data. They should stop giving out date of birth. It’s used too much for online verifications.

Hey, speaking of erroneous websites, is Mike Jacobs on the Dekalb GOP Exec. Committee or not? And is the “Executive Committee” different from the “Executive Board”?

Chris Farris June 17, 2008 at 2:27 pm

drjay, nothing had Gross not put himself on the Georgia ballot.

saltynuts June 17, 2008 at 2:33 pm

The DeKalb GOP “Executive Committee” is different from the “Executive Board.”

I can’t remember what the difference is, but there is a difference.

Chris Farris June 17, 2008 at 2:34 pm

If Gays weren’t getting married in California, Keith Gross would know his age.
