Russert was a fine journalist in the truest sense of the word. He seemed to be the most objective interviewer that I have ever watched.
Not only that, but he clearly was a man of deep and genuine faith, a dedicated son, husband, and father. As the cliche goes, they just don’t make them like they used to. He left Luke with quite a legacy.

Legacies are awesome. Maybe he can get some legacy lessons from the Bush twins or Chelsea.

I’m not big on social graces.
But I still have friends in low places.

Here is the tribute from “Meet The Press” this Sunday:

(I know it is not the Chipmucks, but since the man did die and all I thought that it may be appropriate)

There’s a lot of stories about Russert, including his Royal funeral in a show with everything but Yul Brenner. And I’m sure he was a great person and family man, however many reporters and anchors pass away in relative obscurity. The ones who don’t make friends with the politicians. Some find all the corporate consolidation and the “ties” rather hideous.
