Teachers and administrators in Barrow County don’t want to give parents any excuses not to send their children to summer school this year.
So, next week, officials will decide how many buses the school district can afford to put back on the road and how many teachers to hire in time for summer classes, which start June 16.
“We’re trying to do our best to determine how many students need (transportation),” Superintendent Ron Saunders said. “We will provide some transportation. We may not pick you up in front of your door, but it will be close.”
Barrow County schools haven’t offered summer-school transportation in seven years, but more is at stake this year.
