I once went, unsuspectingly, to an entire play based on the green funeral concept. Apparently you can order a kit that contains a, presumably biodegradable, cardboard box in which the body gets put into the ground in. So this rather large cardboard coffin was the main prop in the play, naturally enough. No pun intended. Of course various family members, cast members not real life or anything, kept climbing in and out of the thing in various acts of the play, when they weren’t painting things on the outside of it. The whole “experience” was a little claustrophobic at best.
