Price for Senate?

It sounds like he is considering it. The post also pretty much confirms what we all knew anyway: Johnny is running for Governor.

    Well it’s official

Does Sonny have any interest in the Senate seat?

I don’t know. How is the bass fishing on the Potomac?

So Karen Handel will run with Johnny for LG and win? Where’s the author placing our current LG?

    Icarus, you suck.

    Bill, you wish.

    Why the hostility?

Cagle could win this. I wouldn’t count him out if he wanted it.

You hoped for Peach to return, and she has.

Don’t be so sure about that Bill.

Hmmm….good one, Rugby. A few weeks late for an April Fool’s prank, but I can appreciate the humor.

Icarus, my apologies. I see that Rugby is being quite the mischevious young man. :-)

Bill, you are worried about who may OR MAY NOT be GOPeach but not about getting Paul Broun sworn in?

    Some priorities there.

I think Tom Price would make a good U.S. Senator, but his challange will be name recognition. While he is a good strong conservative, his name is not well known over the state as someone like our Lt. Governor

I’m more concerned about who might swear at Paul Broun if he continues his path of banning access to publications that soldiers like to read and peruse frequently.

So if Price runs for Senate will Konop try and go for his seat again?

If rumor is true, I think it puts Mark Burkhalter in uber-decision mode. Does he abandon the sinking ship that is the GA House for the U.S. House, or does he help push the Speaker overboard and proclaim himself captain? I think he believed he had 2 more years before he was going to have to make that decision.

    Chris

I was asked that question a few days ago when I was approached about this. The truth is it is very unlikely because of the commitments I have made to my new venture which is going better than expected.

I have 25 employees already and we should double that number within 12 months not including companies I am buying.

I do think we have many qualified people in the district from Robert Lamutt, Chip Rogers, Chuck Clay………

BTW I am going to the Silverback game on Friday night and I will buy beers. And if Rugby shows up he gets two!

This is a Fulton County magazine, it’s biased. Lynn Riley, pfff.

There is some pretty good analysis in this piece in terms of how Price would play statewide and the advantages he would bring to the table. His “Flanders” accent and speaking style could be a minor liability outside the Metro area but no one can beat him in terms of his work ethic and his solid approach to public policy. He will certainly be able to draw on a committed base for both funding and support in North Fulton and East Cobb. I personally hope Johnny comes home and provides some sorely needed executive leadership in the Governor’s office. If he does and Tom Price were to move to the Senate, it would be two-fer for Georgia. Mark Burkhalter would make a great Speaker but he would also represent us well in the 6th District. Whatever he decides to do, Georgia will win.

Wow, I’m glad that is settled. I guess we can call off the elections. It is rare to see a “reporter” show such unbridled arrogance.

I thought Lynn Westmoreland was going to run. He’s got my vote if he does!
