You know…if Cardwell was actually a viable candidate, some rendition of this would make a television ad.

What a bitter man Dale Cardwell is.

  2. GAR says:

While it does look quite funny, Dale has got a point in his race. Jim Martin is just the candidate the DSCC chose. He’s not going to resound with anyone here.

  3. Progressive Dem says:

If Dale didn’t sit on a pole, the party mules wouldn’t have gone calling on Martin.

  4. Goldwater Conservative says:

They would not have gone calling on Cardwell either.

If you can’t make it close on your own…the party will not help. This goes for both parties…it is typical behavior.

Cardwell has proven he can not make it on his own. The guy is running for U.S. Senate and has raised less than $150k. That is a state-wide base for fundraising…and he has not raised enough to beat an incumbent State House Republican. Heck, a mayorial race in most small/medium sized cities runs for $100k.

He is not alone though…neither Vernon Jones nor Rand Knight nor Josh Lanier could do much better. They have embarrassed the party.

Agreed, AuH2O. Money talks. Stunts like camping on a billboard don’t exactly raise anyone’s confidence in your campaign tactics either.

The anti-Vernon vote may be split enough for him to avoid a run-off. Georgia Democrats will be wandering in the wilderness until they can attract suburban voters fed up with transportation congestion, lousy schools and a deteriorating environment.

Martin is out of touch with average Georgians, went back on his word to Dale about not getting in this race due to his friendship with Vernon, and was talked into running due to the NSCC’s promises of massive amounts of cash.

I predict Vernon wins the primary run off v. Martin.

No offense GOPGrassroots…but what are you smoking.

Martin has a very unique opportunity to blast Chambliss for being a “terrorist,” just the same way that Saxby did Cleland.

Martin is a ‘Nam vet. Chambliss is a coward who got a deferment.

Dont forget…only Martin and Chambliss have qualified thus far. Also, Martin only told Cardwell that he would not chose sides…he said nothing about not running because of Vernon Jones.

Vernon is relying on black people to vote for a black person. Plain and simple. It is also a fact that the black voters will not even know that Vernon is black. He does not have enough money to get his name and face everywhere that he would need to.

Martin’s entrance is unique in another sense, fundraising. I would not be the least bit suprised to see Vernon Jones’ fundraising come to a complete halt. Since Q3 2007, VJ has been relying on “the regulars” for funds…Martin has all of them in the bag with merely his announcement.

I predict…with actual consideration of variables…that Martin takes it hands down without a run-off. Martin can play the electability card, and Vernon is likely going to jail before the primary anyways.

Good luck with you dream ticket Gopgrassroots.
