At first I was impressed that Evans had the class to resign. I doubt any previous DOT types would have been so ethical.
Then I had to wonder if he didn’t decide it was better to take the $100+ job Speaker Glenn Richardson tried to bribe him with.
Wonder if the person wearing the wire caught that conversation.

Without commenting whether we are getting the whole truth or not, how is his replacement chosen?

I don’t think we’re getting the whole truth. As R.B. Farris’s Gnome at the Dome, I have heard from now two fairly reliable sources that Gena will tender her resignation on Monday. That’s two to replace.

Governor Perdue, the DOT is in the crapper and these two have hurt your cause to clean it up. But humans fail.
I have a suggestion. Do not listen to any house or senate members.
I know she is the SoS, but call Karen back to vet the replacements.
She won’t lie, she will have no agenda, and she will tell you directly and to your face the truth.

I’ve seen those same rumors.
So long as Evans isn’t in her chain of command, why would Gena need to resign?
Unless she finally saw the depth of how f-ed the GDOT is and is using this an excuse to get out.

What if the “relationship” is longer than one month and they were involved back when Evans cast the deciding vote to make her the Commish? Just wondering

While she may not have to resign now that Evans is no longer her boss ( or one of her bosses), the whole incident has tainted her as having poor judgement. She will be ineffective as the leader of this organization as long as she remains at DOT.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed she stays put and one of us gets invited to live blog the wedding.

I wonder if Richardson, Graves, Scott and the others will get an invite……

Graves better get an invite. He ought to be the dang ring-bearer since these flakes cost Graves his Hawk job and his relationship with the Speaker.

eBurke,
‘Splain to me what this “poor judgement” is?
