Beer for me but not for thee

This really is nuts.

While legislators forged a way for beer to be sold at Gwinnett’s planned stadium on Sundays, the county will have to cross several hurdles before the keg is tapped.

This week, lawyers have studied the last-minute law changes passed at the General Assembly Friday to discern if the pouring license will be possible.

Sunday sales are an issue because state codes allow them only at stadiums inside cities, while the Gwinnett Braves stadium is planned for a site on Buford Drive between Lawrenceville and Buford.

But instead of passing a proposal to extend the courtesy to counties, the issue was marred in a statewide battle over Sunday package sales, leaving legislators with a last-minute amendment to another alcohol proposal to solve the problem.
