Good Deal

This will help a lot. In Macon, I’m trying to get the taxpayers out of the animal shelter business.

Fort Valley State University is expected to become the home of a statewide animal shelter for dogs and cats.

The Georgia General Assembly appropriated $750,000 for the project in the state budget, which is now in Gov. Sonny Perdue’s hands.

I think Macon would be wise to have its animal control unit do code enforcement and contract out to a privately owned facility to actually do the animal sheltering, euthanizing, etc. In fact, most of the private facilities have moved to no kill, which is a good thing.

Awesome, they did decide to name him after his real dad.

Now I just hope they can’t find my address for a summons on child support.

Damn, it sucks that Ft. Valley State is a historically-black school. That makes it too politically-incorrect to make the obvious jokes about how Middle Georgia colleges are well-suited for warehousing dumb creatures that will seldom if ever leave.
