Adjournment Resolution

I’m told that the General Assembly has passed a new Adjournment resolution that places Sine Die on Friday April 4th. Thats a week from today.

Dear Senate,
How is consideration and deliberation of those Veto Overrides coming along?

  1. Dave Bearse says:

CONSTITUTION OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA

ARTICLE III. SECTION V. PARAGRAPH XIII. Portion of (c)

“Approval, veto, and override of veto of bills and resolutions two-thirds of the members to which such house is entitled vote to override the veto of the Governor, the same shall be immediately transmitted to the other house where it shall be immediately considered.”

As Sen. Balfour said, the Senate’s promptly sending the veto overrides to a quiet death in the Rules Committe fulfilled the constitutional requirement to immediately consider the action taken by the House.
