Austin Scott faces a rematch.

Tifton Republican Austin Scott will be challenged again by John Tibbets:

“Today, I am announcing that I am a candidate for the House of Representatives to represent the people of Tift and Turner counties in the Georgia General Assembly,” Tibbetts said. “The name of the office, Representative, says it all. This is more than a title; it’s a job description.”

Tibbetts ran against incumbent Austin Scott in November 2006 and garnered 46 percent of the vote.

I got to know Rep. Scott through the Dunwoody incorporation effort. The folks in Tifton area are lucky to have his strength of character, wisdom, and intellenge in their Rep.

Austin, you helped slow the manic rush to incorporate Dunwoody, and that was truly appreciated by those close to the scene –recognize that you ‘did good.’
