Phil Gingrey sent this out last night:
“I am proud to join my fellow conservatives as we stand behind Senator McCain in his bid to be the next President of the United States. Senator McCain has proven that he is one of the best friends small government has in this country, and has committed his career in public service to stopping wasteful government spending. As a war hero, no one has fought harder to protect America’s national security interests, or championed the cause of our nation’s veterans and men and women in uniform more than Senator McCain. Unlike Obama and Clinton, John McCain understands what our military needs to win and defeat the terrorists. Not only is he fully committed to this fight but he also has the experience, character and courage to be our next commander-in-chief. I believe John McCain is ready to lead America to victory.”
Congressman Gingrey is one of the more socially conservative members of the Congress. Supposedly there is a “backlash” from far-right fundamentalists against McCain. More so-cons will come over, but the enthusiasm won’t be there.
As an aside, congrats to Doug Deal on the kid.
And this is a news flash? Should we be surprised?
Belly up to the Beltway Folks!
Hey “Dr. Phil”
Maybe you should become a SUPER DELEGATE or something!!! LOL … too much time in Washington… too much time….
These last minute endorsements are cracking me up…..
It’s like this…. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osJQvbiFTmo
It was so small….
Gingrey: ” Senator McCain has proven that he is one of the best friends small government has in this country, and has committed his career in public service to stopping wasteful government spending”…
Here, the crowd yells ” HOW SMALL WAS IT…!?”
Yikes – the world loves a straight-man. OK: A government so small that it refuses to secure its own borders in a war – so small that it does not enforce the laws that irritate the donors that put the government in place …and so small that it can get away without “wasteful government spending” on building a fence as required by the Secure Fence Act of 2006 by ‘unpassing’ that law a year later in the dark of night – at Christmas. I man “holiday season”
McCain hires a former staffer from the Mexican president Fox administration ( Juan Hernandez )who wails “Mexico first” as “outreach” and then says he doesn’t know about his staffer’s former actions?
President most- liberal- in- the- Senate Obama should stage a thank you rally for these guys next Christmas. His government won’t be so small.
We may all need to learn to say “Sin Fronteras”.
The auction seems to be nearly over.
America slimed… and sold again.
**yawn**
Hey Dr. Phil –
I hope you know that the 11th CD carried HUCKABEE!!! So did GEORGIA!!! Endorsing McCain was not wise, Sir!
You are a real Washington Insider now – ain’t cha?
I don’t know if you know this, but the Hucktard isn’t going to win.
Such is life. Such as life!
Truly a case of the blind leading the blind. And they all fell into a ditch. McCain is liar and an ass! He will destroy what little is left of the integrity of the republican party after Bush is done.
As far as supporting Huckabee over Romney – it was stupid because it allowed McCain to win. Just stupid. Suckers!!!
