AFP Day at the Capitol

Feb.7, 7:30 AM – 11AM, meeting in Room 230 in the Capitol Building

At one a time a state legislator actually said, “Nobody cares how we spend the money down here. People just aren’t that passionate about that issue like they are on others.” Let’s prove him wrong this Thursday!

Join us for a great opportunity to learn firsthand from legislators about bills affecting fiscal policy, meet fellow citizen-activists, and become an effective lobbyist for fiscal discipline

Confirmed speakers include State Senators Chip Rogers, Chip Pearson, and David Shafer, along with Speaker Glenn Richardson and Representative Jill Chambers. They will discuss the GREAT plan, transparency in appropriations, the Taxpayer Protection Act, zero-based budgeting, tax reform, and economic development. Light breakfast will be served.

Bring guests – you do not have to be an AFP member to come, but attending members will be included in a drawing for a prize to be given away at 9:45.

RSVP or questions Virginia Galloway 404-736-1465 or [email protected]

Information is available on parking near the Capitol, MARTA, or carpools. Carpools are currently being organized from Cherokee, Cobb, Gwinnett, Henry, and Paulding Counties. Let us know if you want to join a carpool or if you can be a carpool organizer for your area.

Remember the first rule for changing the world: Show up.
