Huckabee in Macon on Sunday

Come see Mike Huckabee this Sunday at Macon’s Historic Third Street Park from 3:00-4:30pm. Third Street Park is located in downtown Macon between Cherry Street and Mulberry Street – For those coming from out of town, it’s at 400 Third Street, Macon, GA 31201.

Added by Buzz: I’m told Chuck Norris will be with Huckabee at this event.

I looked through Romney’s “Issues” links and have found them to have very

little reference to what he has done (some on education and vetoes) and very

heavily weighted on quotes from 2007 on what conservative things he wants to

do. That is fine but when you look at his earlier years you would think you

where looking at a different person. My concern is what he would say and do

when he is trying to capture the “center vote” from Hillary or Obama. Will

    he make another transformation?

Why are all the “conservative” experts saying that Huckabee is splitting

the conservative vote when they just finished telling us that Huckabee

wasn’t conservative? If they where to be believed the first time, Huckabee

would be splitting the moderate vote.

Right now polls (see: ) are

showing Romney and Huckabee averaging 2.2% apart with the last (fox) poll 1%

apart. Last month and early this month Huckabee was 1st or 2nd in the

national polls. Did we hear calls about splitting the conservative vote at

that time? No, we heard that Huckabee wasn’t a conservative.

A couple nights ago Sean Hannity tried to press Newt Gingrich to tell

Mike Huckabee to drop out of the race and twice Gingrich shot him down and

said that “Mike Huckabee will be the power broker in this race.”

Lastly, due to the way we choose delegates in California, a vote for

Romney may be a vote for McCain. Very conservative areas like the 4th

district may very well be looking at more of a Huckabee/McCain battle.

Without doing a district specific poll, it would be hard to know.

  2. GOPeach says:

Neither McCain or Romney will move this forward.

HUCKABEE is going up the Feakin I R S … That takes BALLS bigger than the Federal Reserve Bank.

The “Fair-Tax” is a distraction to hide his big government history. The “Fair-Tax” isn’t even good tax policy. Turn off Boortz and read something by an actual economist.

  4. Chuck Norris will be accompanying the Governor in Macon. This is going to be an exciting event. I’ve received confirmations that there are people from Alabama, Florida, East and South Georgia as well as Metro Atlanta folks. It will be a great event.

GrandOleDawg – please do research before you mistate the facts again – yes John Linder wrote the Fair Tax bill but the Fair Tax was not created by John Linder or Neal Boortz – they just promote it as they should because the people here in Georgia are tired of being mugged by the IRS – a group that did not exist until 1900’s – our Founding Fathers did not want an income tax – read the book and do research on your own and find out the etiology of the Income Tax. IRS is a government agency that may by force take everything you own and keep coming after you for years. As the income tax is currently written if the government wanted to they could take 100% of the money you make.

If you don’t believe me you pay a lot of taxes whether or not you get a refund or not try this, get your W2 forms for last year – get the amount of money (before taxes) and then figure out how much taxes they took out in a % then add 23% to that number and that is the percentage of taxes you are paying now. Taxes are added to everything you buy now. Corporations and businesses do not currently pay taxes – they just collect the money from you added on to the good or service you are buying (marked up if you want to call it that) and pass up the chain to the IRS which is where the 23% add on rate comes to. Sit back and figure out that amount you pay in taxes divide by 12 and see how many months a year you work for Uncle Sam and don’t get to keep that money. Where you are working and making NOTHING and what part of the year you actually start to bring money in. Ask Mitt Romney if Bain Capital pays taxes.

Where the Fair Tax comes in is – you fire the IRS which takes around 10 Billion dollars per year to run and the 23% taxes which are currently in the good or service are gone. You get to keep your whole paycheck. You get a prebate check from the government every month to keep you up to at least the level of poverty. You are not taxed on used goods. And when you go to buy new goods/services because the 23% has already been removed on the front end it just moves to the back end and you pay it just as you do the state sales tax now. Think about it like this Georgia could do away with the sales tax and “tax the businesses” – you would immediately see the price of the goods/services you buy go up that amount immediately and you would have no prebate, you would have no whole pay check and you would still pay taxes on used goods – that is the difference between the Fair Tax and other sales tax plans out there.
In this case let me give you an example – you go to the store and buy a coke for $1.00 – currently from the time the coke was started being made, then packaged, then shipped, then on the store shelves – think about how many people were taxed from the beginning to the end in this process – this is how the economists came up with the 23% tax that is already in the goods/services. Now imagine the IRS is gone – you go to the store that same coke costs you 77cents add the 23% sales tax which in a dollar is 23cents and you pay $1.00 to buy your coke – you have your whole pay check and you get a monthly prebate check and the government still collects the same amount because now drug dealers, pimps, prostitutes, illegal aliens, and anybody else who is not currently paying taxes to the IRS now pay taxes too.

One more beauty of the Fair Tax you don’t pay the 23% on used items – so you just dropped the price by 23%. Remember the days of flipping houses – you could flip a used house with NO CAPITAL GAINS and no tax at all because bye bye IRS. Now that is an economic stimulus package that will actually stimulate the economy. You can buy a used car and the price dropped 23% and again you have ALL of your income because you are not penalized for productivity and you have the prebate checks – now tell me you have more money coming to you and it is so simple you don’t have to do any calculations – you already know you are paying 23% tax just like everyone else and the only way that could be raised would be by the people !!! Imagine that power taken from the government and handed back to the people – our Founding Fathers would be so proud – history truly does repeat itself. Oh and by the way – should we get the government to decrease it’s spending which needs to happen anyway – the sales tax rate of 23% could be lowered even more.

Would you like to know who created the Fair Tax? I guess since you don’t know the correct answer I’ll tell you – actual ECONOMISTS !!!

Yes, plural – economists who were hired by a group of businessmen in Texas – successful free market businessmen.

Americans For Fair Taxation was formed in 1995 as a 501 (c)(4) nonprofit, nonpartisan, grassroots organization solely dedicated to replacing the current tax system. It began as a research organization with the initial goal of finding out what the American people wanted in a tax system, what they felt was the best way for the government to collect revenue, and how taxation could be achieved in a way that most benefited the economy and the taxpayers. Many diverse groups of Americans participated in the extensive polling and focus group studies, and then a nonpartisan team of ECONOMISTS was commissioned to develop the FairTax plan. The organization today has hundreds of thousands of members and volunteers nationwide. Its plan supports sound economic research, education of citizens and community leaders, and grassroots mobilization efforts.

Beacon Hill Insitute in Boston has recently completed comprehensive research on the major facets of the FairTax: estimation of the tax base and rate for the FairTax compared to other tax reform proposals, its impact on the economy, on the states, on the distribution of the tax burden and on charitable giving. Laurence J. Kotlikoff, Professor of Economics at Boston University and former senior economist, President’s Council of Economic Advisers, has extensively published in the field of public finance and tax reform including papers on the FairTax, from overviews for non-technical readers to fundamental economic for economists. A Macroeconomic Analysis of the FairTax Proposal (PDF) (found at
This study employs a dynamic supply-side economic model to estimate the impact of the FairTax on major economic indicators: GDP, disposable income, consumption, investment under the FairTax are all exceed what they would be if the current system were to remain in place.

Therefore, maybe your the one who should turn off whatever your listening to and pick a book and learn more about the Fair Tax.
