The administration failed by not having done anything for these poor Sudanese people a long time ago. It is time for Plan B, that President Bush promised but never followed through with. So thank you Sen. Shafer for doing something the president won’t, take a stand against real injustice.

Actually, Carter called what’s happening to the Palestinians “apartheid,” which, last I checked, was not entirely inaccurate – “any system or practice that separates people according to race, caste, etc.” (from Random House Unabridged Dictionary).

And although I have to (sadly) agree that he got it wrong on Darfur, really, Carter is history’s greatest monster? We can’t think of anyone, in all of history, who might be more monstrous? Now who’s using hyperbole?

Nice job comparing Carter to Hitler, because you know, its an easy thing to do, and apt.

That is the definition of genocide. If a state labels activities as genocide, then that state must act to end it. What is happening in Darfur is genocide, but that doesn’t make it “genocide”, which is why “acts of genocide” does not mean genocide is occurring.

Last I checked, Jimmy Carter was no longer speaking for any state, so it makes no difference what he calls what is happening in Darfur or Palestine.
