The GOP is in a state of turmoil. Huckabee and McCain are outside of the establishment (so is Ron Propeil.. I mean Ron Paul). Thompson was supposed to to the consensus candidate but he failed at launch. He hould have been sponsored by Viagra. Romney is a flip flopper with all the charm and personality of Hillary. Rudi favors gay rights, gun control and right-to-choose. Hunter is a Kucinish.

Rush Limbaugh, Richard Viquerie, Rich Lowry, Bill Kristol, Laura Ingham are going to have to hold their collective noses and swallow. Not only is there is no Ronald Reagan, the Dems are going to nominate a candidate with the capacity to widen their base. It's gonna be a long year for the GOP followed by four (eight) more.

Well...given that there are some technicallities in that statement, Rick Day, I will not make a bet. I would gladly make the wager your years salary, but after Ron Paul loses he may run as an independent. You may also be moving to his district in Texas...so again, you may be voting for him there. I do not know. One thing is for certain: He will not be the Republican nominee. Neither will Duncan Hunter or Thompson.

A wise man proportions his beliefs to the evidence.

Goldwater, I'll bet you $50 that I'll have opportunity to vote for Paul for President in two different elections this year.

He ain't done yet, so do not get your hopes up.

Really, the only two candidates running ads in states other than Iowa are Guiliani and Romney...because they have the money. Paul, Thompson, Hunter etc. are all done. Huckabee needs to try and take advantage of his victory in Iowa...I am suprised that he is bothering coming to GA. There are not many delegates...and he can raise a lot more money elsewhere. When it comes to NH and Super Tuesday...it will be interesting to see where the New England voters place their votes. Same with the Mid West as a matter of fact. Huckabee is not a strong candidate...but he is a genuine candidate. And still looking has a little bit of a point,...but if Guiliani and Romney are the only ones running ads in GA, they will be the candidates that will be framing the context of the primary.

When we were running ads for Garrett Hayes last year, we had a list of prices for the various networks for cable providers in the areas we wanted to hit. You don't buy them in block to go across the country.

Like Bill said, Giuliani is running ads in Georgia.

Brian,

But, Fox News and CNN are "cable channels." Which means that making a commercial buy is not like placing a buy on broadcast stations. Cable systems can operate (and frequently do) independently of each other. There would be no need to make a "national buy" on cable just to get to Iowa voters.

Either Giuliani IS starting to advertise in Georgia, or his media buyer screwed-up big time.

I think he made a huge blunder in bypassing Iowa, but who knows. With technology and the new media, anything can happen.

It wasn't "on TV in GA," it was on Fox and CNN nationally to target everyone watching the Iowa results.

Don't get too caught up in the Iowa moment, this campaign is still about a rapidly changing world that isn't necessarily turning in our favor. It's more important to place a man who can who instills confidence at home and strength abroad. No candidate in either party other than Giuliani has emphasized this or is capable of providing it.

What an insult! Rudi doesn't have foreign policy experience. Also the message is wrong for 2008. This election is about change, competancy and less partisanship.
