Where’s Dale?

by Erick on January 2, 2008

ImageFolks in this thread noticed that Dale was not on his webcam.

According to the Political Insider, Dale is huddled up in his sleeping back under a tarp. It’s cold outside.

Of course, that does not make for compelling viewing of the live webcam when we can’t see the guy. Maybe someone needs to take the camera into the tarp.

By the way, is this a violation of FEC rules? Have the people with the tower given him access to the tower? If so, isn’t that some sort of in-kind contribution (do you have to disclose expenditures for acts of idiocy?)?

Come on Dale. The public won’t realize we’re all in trouble if they can’t see you (there’s a joke there somewhere). Oh, and you say that the Corey tower is

OMG! This is great political theater. Live too. Back to the cam…

I just got off the phone with a friend of mine who worked at the FEC until 2005. Most of these types of political stunts trigger an administrative hearing that will lead to a ruling in matters of whether or not it is considered a contribution. If the tower had a banner or other campaign type advertisement medium displayed, then it would be an inkind contribution. Otherwise he is fine so far. This is otherwise considered a campaign event. So long as Corey owns the property and the event costs less than $1000, it will not be required to be disclosed nor will it go against Corey’s contribution limits. Anything in excess of $1000 will go against the limit though. I know Dale lost all of his staff in the past 6 months…so he does not have any professional counsel in these regards.

Is there a sign being displayed from the lift?

11:27 Dale Coldwell has emerged with a camcorder! Oh wait, he’s gone again.

Buzz Brockway January 2, 2008 at 12:05 pm

He’s alive! 12:05 pm and I saw him…..I guess it’s him, it’s hard to tell since he’s bundled (or should I say ’snuggled’) up in warm clothes.

i don’t know how to explain it–but something about tis entire episode is giving me the feeling that –or the realization of the fact that we are somehow in trouble…thank you dale (cardwell is it?) thank you

Does anybody know the number to the cell phone he’s talking on? I’d like to call and ask him how he’s doing. Maybe he could answer me live on the web cam. :)

12:25 and he’s gone again. I suppose he’s back under the tent. Why doesn’t he have a laptop in there so we can chat with him? I wonder what Mrs. Caldwell thinks of all this?

If he sees his shadow the next time he comes out, does that mean six more weeks of winter?

Looks like someone has already spoofed Dale…

drjay January 2, 2008 at 1:52 pm

who is the 25 y.o. dog catcher?

JDP January 2, 2008 at 1:54 pm

Franklin Randolph Knight. Looks like he’s 25 but thinks he’s qualified to run for Senate.

EAVDad January 2, 2008 at 2:50 pm

The issue is simple: Dale needs money!

DMZDave January 2, 2008 at 2:50 pm

Franklin Randolph Knight went to Westminster and has a PhD in Al Gore Studies. He spent the past 12 years in college and graduate school in Vermont and Washington state and recently moved back to Atlanta and is looking for a job – hey, how about Senator, that sounds like fun?

EAVDad January 2, 2008 at 2:53 pm

He’s BACK! And he’s talking…I think…

GeorgiaValues January 2, 2008 at 3:00 pm

Actually, Rush Limbaugh is talking, Dale is mouthing something to the camera. Maybe he thinks he is Rush due to the cold.

GeorgiaValues January 2, 2008 at 4:20 pm

The shadow on the chair has not moved in over 2 hours…he’s paused the feed!!! I’ll bet he’s come down for a latte and a reapplication of make up and hair spray.

I think I just ran over a frozen finger on I75 as I was passing the tower on my way home.
