GRTL PAC Endorses Huckabee

Breaking with their National brethren, Georgia Right To Life’s political action committee has endorsed Mike Hucakbee for President.

From a press release emailed to me:

As an affiliate of National Right to Life, we give grateful recognition for the role they play in protecting the unborn.

Oops! I can only assume that they pulled the trigger on that endorsement before Fred! actually participated in his first debate.

The endorsements in this cycle have entertained me to no end. As recently as this summer, almost all of the Georgia congressional delegation were firmly in the Romney camp. By autumn, state leaders were up Fred!’s butt and pretending that the Romney thing never happened. As winter sets in, everyone is hopping aboard the Tax-Hike Mike bandwagon and pretending that the Fred! thing was just our imagination. With Ron Paul on the verge of knocking off Guiliani for Q4 fundraising, even he is starting to get a serious look from mainstream Republicans.

    This isn’t a race, it’s musical chairs.

  2. GOPeach says:

The NRTL allows for “the 3 acceptions” which basically looks the other way when we murder a baby because s/he was conceived through rape or incest.

Whereas the GEORGIA RIGHT TO LIFE endorses candidates who will protect the unborn babies no matter how they were conceived.

It is my deepest conviction that we must protect the personhood of our American babies so they will make it down the birth canal.

This defines how Fred and Mike differ on this issue.

  3. IndyInjun says:

Ron Paul has a superior record to Mike Taxabee on being consistent and on right to life. Both of them tout leaving abortion to the states, so why Taxabee?

Oh, I got it, its the Baptist preacher malarkey.

These conservative socialists are brainless, aren’t they?

Ted Haggard was the head of the evangelicals and Ralph Reed headed their politics, so they ought to have a CLUE by now that a lying, misrepresenting preacher does not change.

  4. yellowhammer says:

GOPeach- If you had your way on abortion and I was raped by a relative and got pregnant, you would force me to have the baby? If so, I have a completely new definition of sicko.

  5. GOPeach says:

    Yellowhammer

Why should you condem a baby for the way s/he was conceived?

Sicko is murdering a baby who has committed no crime what so ever…

Being raped is horrible. Being raped by a relative is a violation like none other – I agree. My heart breaks for women who have have had this type of shock and trauma.

There are people ( like me) who are trained to help such women see the redemption in such a crime against them and give the gift of life through their suffering…

Isn’t that what Christ did for us? There is a grace that is available for such things as you stated…
I have seen it all too many times. πŸ™‚

As for being “forced” to have a baby…. nobody is forced to have a baby… We can all murder our babies if we want to… it’s just a felony.

  6. Still Looking says:

A first trimester abortion is not murder, capital punishment is murder. If you can justify killing an adult through capital punishment, I can justify aborting a fetus, which has never taken human form, breathed, spoken, eaten or acted in any way like a human.

  7. yellowhammer says:

Wow. What about forcing a woman who has gone through a nightmare to have a permanent reminder of what she went through. In the case of incest, what about the health concerns of the child? I understand you have no malice in your beliefs, but to me, it’s just not right to force any woman to go through that in those circumstances. Also, I apologize for the sicko comment in my first reply. It was a bit juvenile and I meant no harm by it. The abortion argument has many facets to it.

Below, I’ve poster an interesting read from Erick’s other site RedState.com. Ron Paul, like many other politicians, says one thing and does another. I am certainly not saying this type of think is unique to Ron Paul, but I do think because he’s built his campaign on this premise that he has been in WDC for the last decade fighting against earmarks and big government spending, that this is a blow to his credibility.

  9. John Konop says:

    dcraigwhite

The fact is RON PAUL has the best voting record on pork spending than any lawmaker end of story.

For Erick to write this post shows he is a partisan hack! I challenge Erick to compare Thompson his candidate or any other candidate running for president vote by vote comparison on spending.

To get the facts and not Erick

  10. IndyInjun says:

For Herr Erickson to snidely compare Dr. Paul to the Nazis is a very weird 180 degree twisting of the situation considering that Redstate would make old Joe Goebbels proud.

Over there Joplin wrote “I find your vehemence to Paul’s “more freedom, less government at home and abroad” views has morphed into rather unseemly sensationalism–something best left to lefties who can’t control their emotions.” and S. Wallace wrote”RedState is a brand built up by the people who run it. It’s yours to safeguard, and yours to trash. Whichever you do, I expect you to stand by your actions. The anti-Paul thing has gone out of control and veered into immaturity. If that is how you wish to be defined, so be it.”

I should point out that dcraigwhite’s posting is totally OFF TOPIC.

Redstate is a NEOCON site, run by neocon idiots.

    PERIOD.

  11. GOPeach says:

    Still Looking-

There is a difference between the word ” kill” and “murder”. There is a time to kill….. like when someone breaks into your house and starts shooting a gun at your family…. etc…..

Killing the guilty is not a crime.

Murdering the innocent is a crime.

Now… How do we know a person has “flat-lined” died? …. When there is NO HEARTBEAT – right?

How do we know if s person is alive? When there IS A HEARTBEAT!

A fetus has a heartbeat when s/he is 3 WEEKS OLD!

    1st Trimester Gestation Includes:

    3 WEEK:
All DNA is present along with a heartbeat.

    6 WEEKS:
By now you had recordable brain waves. You also became sensitive and responded to touch at this age.

    8 WEEKS:
All of your major organs are in place. You’ve already perfected a somersault, back flip and scissor kick!

    10 WEEKS:
Your hands and feet are perfectly shaped and formed.

This information is available in a 10th grade Human Anatomy book… Not sure why legislators are so puzzled.

In my post, I wasn’t referring to the comparison made by Erick , nor was I trying to divert attention from the topic at hand. John, however, has raised a question, so at the risk of corrupting the thread even further…

    John,

I would agree with you on this point, but I think that’s exactly what Erick was trying to say. Ron Paul lobbies to get his pork projects included, then when the vote is secured, Paul votes against the bill. Ron Paul brought home over $120,000,000 home to his Texas congressional district, worse than 100th in the U.S. Congress. While his voting record might not reflect this (because of how he does it), the fact remains. As for the best fiscal record, that would be Tom Tancredo. He’s ranked 54th.

This is an honest question, because I am an idealistic college student interested in this kind of stuff, but does it not make you question Ron Paul’s integrity on this issue? For him to lobby for the funds, then secure the votes, then vote against it so to appear “pure”…seems pretty dishonest. Let me be clear – Ron Paul certainly isn’t the first, nor will he be the last to do something like this, but as someone who’s built his campaign on limited government and slashing spending doesn’t it seem wrong to bring home 10.3 million for shrimp-related issues?

  13. GOPeach says:

    Yellow Hammer –

Giving life to a child who was conceived by rape is not a permanent reminder of the crime.

Not one woman I have helped through this trauma will say that.

They all say – having the baby helped them heal from the violation and gave them a sense of worth and dignity.

Women I have counseled who had abortions after being raped are still dealing with the dual scars of being both a victim of a crime and committing murder ( taking the life of an innocent child ).

The guild and nightmares are haunting. These women suffer from great mental distress as their body was ready to do what it is designed to do and the body chemistry is shocked.

After 40 million abortions in America, there are many case studies that attest to these facts.

I do not think there is a fire in hell hot enough for a rapist. I would like to see them all castrated!!!!!!

However, if a precious life is the result of such a horrible defiling act… then we will celebrate the redemptive fruit.

There is a grace for such a thing… an amazing grace!

  14. IndyInjun says:

    dcraigwhite –

Dr. Paul does not slam the door in the face of constituents wishing a piece of the federal pie, but to say he then “lobbies” for them is a stretch, as was Erick’s similar assertion at Redstate. Ron Paul votes against them, along with everybody else’s, so how does he exercise influence to make sure his get done? It can’t be the usual exchange of backscratching.

RON PAUL is the best hope of restoring the Reagan coalition, the Constitution, and the CONSERVATIVE goal of reducing government.

Herr Erickson stands with the neocon crazies who gave us a $2.4 trillion war that they are too slimy and gutless to pay for, man, or even define “victory” for, while borrowing the money from China. Real conservatives, like De Borchgrave, have seen this as the worst strategic error in US history. Dr. Paul would end it, before it breaks us and China has us at “checkmate.”

Ron Paul is not perfect and every one of his supporters can point out some things that they don’t agree with.

We scare Erick and the morons who run the GOP because we are NOT going to go away, we won’t be silenced, we will take back the conservative cause even if it means destroying the GOP that they control, and we will give Erick the same treatment that he has given us.

Don’t look now but Dr. Paul is now at $10.4 million for the quarter with a month left, more than any of the ‘frontrunners’ did in the entire third quarter.

We stand poised to shock the political world, despite Herr Erick’s gutter tactics and those of the rest of his friends.

    They belong with the Democrats.

  15. IndyInjun says:

    dcraigwhite:

In recent years NO ONE has to ‘lobby’ for earmarks, then get put in willy-nilly. Yes, I would prefer that Dr. Paul go the route of Tom Coburn and eschew them all together. However, he has voted against spending measures and THAT is the real test. If he were for rewarding contituents FIRST and above all, ala the lamentable Chambliss, he would have voted the party line with the rest of the GOP crazies.

YOU brought a Redstate topic into this thread and an offensive one, at that. Redstate may censor Paul supporters and Erick may very well do it here as he loves Goebbels techniques of using media as a tool.

It seems that a LOT of folks want to save conservatism and you guys put the corrupt GOP leadership first. WE have no intention of ever again surrendering ground to the neocons and religious zealots in their altered state of reality.

As for defense, Dr. Paul very accurately says that they are small groups, not nation-states. Dr. Paul RIGHTLY objected to the Iraq war, saying that the criteria fit PAKISTAN. He did this in 2002.

The man was a prophet. Now Pakistan is SCAREY because of its 12000 madrassas, mad nuke scientists, very real WMD, harboring of OBL, and selling nuke technology and WE are giving them $billions!

Not only this, but we have spent our military resources in Iraq, borrowing the money from China, thereby ceding control of our finances to them. During this time China has scoured Africa and S. America securing LONG TERM RESOURCE CONTRACTS. Look it up. It scares the fool out of me.

It is the latter that should frighten the dickens out of you, as our course is SUICIDAL.

Then there is the financial morass and the destruction of the dollar by the Fed. Dr Paul has written NINE BOOKS on economics. His opponents have not likely read nine books.

RON PAUL is the real deal who can put the Reagan coalition together, but the NEOCONS prefer a Hillary win, so they maintain their grasp on the GOP.

If I wrongly pegged you as a neocon, I am sorry. Neocons need to be sent packing ASAP.

    Wake up, man!

  16. StevePerkins says:

Despite being a Ron Paul guy, even *I’m* scratching my head as to how this thread got hijacked in that direction. I love Paul, but in all fairness I don’t think his earmark record has anything to do with Mike Huckabee and the GRTL.

That said, I’m a little puzzled on what anyone could mean by “lobbying”. Lobbying involves SOME form of quid pro quo. Lobbyist-to-Congressman: “Get this earmark in and we’ll send some campaign contributions your way.” Congressman-to-fellow-Congressman: “Get this earmark in and I’ll vote for a bill that I would otherwise vote against.” Etc, etc.

Where’s the quid pro quo if Ron Paul never votes for any spending measures. If Paul lobbies for earmarks, he’s lobbying to the dumbest people on the face of the planet… because they’re not getting anything in return. I’m sorry, but this notion just doesn’t add up for me logically.

As much as Congress throws our taxpayer money around… when you represent a district that’s in the home state of the President of the United States, SOME pork is GOING to fall on your district. With all due respect to RedState.com’s objective investigative prowess (cough)… I’d have to see a little more evidence that this has anything to do with Paul giving anything up or violating principle on his end.

  17. IndyInjun says:

Let’s put it back on track.

Taxabee was picked for the endorsement purely because GRTL thinks that he is on the upswing, not because his is the superior record on abortions.

PRINCIPLES have little to do with the GOP and that was apparent a LONG TIME AGO.

The ‘religious’ rightists are the most easily conned of the GOP coalition.

    Sadly, that has not changed.

  18. StevePerkins says:

I have what may appear to be a sarcastic question, but which in fact is completely serious and genuine. Has ANYONE over the past couple of decades EVER changed someone’s mind on either side of the abortion debate? It seems to me that one’s time could be spent more productively by yelling at Alabama and Auburn fans, trying to encourage one side or the other switch their football team preference.

  19. GOPeach says:

    Still Looking –

A fetus has the status of a human when s/he has a heart beat. This is in the 3rd WEEK of gestation.

    A pulse determines LIFE.

  20. GOPeach says:

    In the mean time…

what do we do… keep paying tax into Medicaid to murder the unborn by the million?

This is worse than illegal immigration!!!

Don’t tell me that 40 million women were raped by their brother/father/uncle!!!

  21. IndyInjun says:

    StevePerkins:

The infuriating thing is that the NRTL folks are so bound up in ONE ISSUE that they miss 3 things: 1) The total betrayal of their past ‘champions’ in the GOP 2)How reliably they are FOOLED by charlatans who KNOW it and 3) How the country can be steered toward total destruction by GOP fraud, corporatist puppetry, disastrous foreign policy, and horrendous debt, yet they remain in bliss as long as they THINK that the GOP is really working to ban abortion or gay marriage.

Do they even notice that the GOP seems to have its own homosexual perversion with Gannon, Craig, Foley, and Ted Haggard?

Yup, with the surprising exception of Peach, they are showing signs of buying the charlatan, Hucksterbee, on appearances, as usual.

  22. GOPeach says:

Ron Paul’s Pro- Life book is WONDERFUL –

“Challenge to Liberty: Coming to Grips with the Abortion Issue”.

I just read it for the 3rd time! It is wonderful He is an OB and has delivered over 4,000 AMERICAN Babies!!!!!

  23. rugby_fan says:

“A fetus has the status of a human when s/he has a heart beat. This is in the 3rd WEEK of gestation.”

So as long as it is within 20 days, abortion is acceptable?

    GOPeach:

Are you opposed to war? Many innocent people are killed during warfare.

I suppose the Doctrine of Double Effect is enough for you.

  24. GOPeach says:

    War, huh, yeah

    Absolutely nothing
    Uh-huh
    War, huh, yeah
    What is it good for
    Absolutely nothing
    Say it again, y’all

    War, huh, good God
    What is it good for
    Absolutely nothing
    Listen to me

    Ohhh, war, I despise
    Because it means destruction
    Of innocent lives

    War means tears
    To thousands of mothers eyes
When their sons go to fight
    And lose their lives

    I said, war, huh
    Good God, y’all
    What is it good for
    Absolutely nothing
    Say it again

    War, whoa, Lord
    What is it good for
    Absolutely nothing
    Listen to me

    War, it ain’t nothing
    But a heartbreaker
War, friend only to the undertaker
    Ooooh, war
It’s an enemy to all mankind
The point of war blows my mind
    War has caused unrest
    Within the younger generation
    Induction then destruction
    Who wants to die
    Aaaaah, war-huh
    Good God y’all
    What is it good for
    Absolutely nothing
Say it, say it, say it
    War, huh
    What is it good for
    Absolutely nothing

    War, huh, good God
    What is it good for
    Absolutely nothing
    Listen to me

War, it ain’t nothing but a heartbreaker
    War, it’s got one friend
    That’s the undertaker
    Ooooh, war, has shattered
    Many a young mans dreams
Made him disabled, bitter and mean
Life is much to short and precious
To spend fighting wars these days
    War can’t give life
It can only take it away

    Ooooh, war, huh
    Good God y’all
    What is it good for
    Absolutely nothing
    Say it again

    War, whoa, Lord
    What is it good for
    Absolutely nothing
    Listen to me

War, it ain’t nothing but a heartbreaker
War, friend only to the undertaker
    Peace, love and understanding
Tell me, is there no place for them today
They say we must fight to keep our freedom
But Lord knows there’s got to be a better way

    Ooooooh, war, huh
    Good God y’all
    What is it good for
    You tell me
Say it, say it, say it, say it

    War, huh
    Good God y’all
    What is it good for
    Stand up and shout it
    Nothing

Bring the boys home (bring ’em back alive)
Bring the boys home (bring ’em back alive)
Bring the boys home (bring ’em back alive)
Turn the ships around, lay your weapons down

Can’t you see ’em march across the sky, all the soldiers that have died
Tryin’ to get home-can’t you see them tryin’ to get home?
Tryin’ to get home-they’re tryin’ to get home
Cease all fire on the battlefield
Enough men have already been wounded or killed

Bring the boys home (bring ’em back alive)

Do you need a Hebrew lesson?????
Moses and Solomon did not speak English πŸ™‚

In Exodus – Moses wrote – ” Thou shall not murder – Hebr. ” ratsach” .” ( The KJV says ” kill” – in more recent translations – it says murder – a more accurate word)

Hebrew for “ratsach ” – to murder, homocide, slaughter.

    In Ecclesiastes 3:3 Solomon wrote:

There is a time to kill – Hebr. “harag” –
“harag” – to kill enemies in defense.

There is a time to defend by putting to death someone who is harming the innocent….

There is NEVER a time to murder the innocent unborn baby with a heartbeat at 3 WEEKS –

Now I believe in LIFE at FERTILIZATION.
But… for now… let’s establish the personhood at the time of a pulse – heartbeat!

  27. Holly says:

You know, this adds nothing to the discussion of the endorsement, but I giggle every time IndyInjun makes up and new name for Huckabee. We should start keeping a tally! πŸ˜€

    Rome- Are you Italian?

The King James Bible was translated FROM the LATIN VULGATE … not the original HEBREW and GREEK!…. Sometimes we must go to the original language in which a book was written to better understand it.

Jesus did not talk about praying for rain but he did say:

“If you ask anything in my name, I will do it.” John 14:14

He publicly raised prayed to raise the dead. Maybe we should start doing that next? πŸ™‚

“They do not say in their hearts, “Let us fear The Lord our God, Who gives the rain in its season, the autumn rain and the spring rain, and keeps for us the weeks appointed for the harvest.” (Jeremiah 5:24)

“The Lord will open to you His good treasury the heavens, to give the rain of your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hands.” (the blessings of obedience, Deuteronomy 28:12)

    JAMES 5
17Elijah was a human being with a nature such as we have [with feelings, affections, and a constitution like ours]; and he prayed earnestly for it not to rain, and no rain fell on the earth for three years and six months. [I Kings 17:1.]
18And [then] he prayed again and the heavens supplied rain and the land produced its crops [as usual]. [I Kings 18:42-45.]

Didnt know those passages were the words of JESUS. However the following are attributed to him

    Matthew 6:5,6

5 “And whenever you pray, do not be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, so that they may be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward. 6 But whenever you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

  31. GOPeach says:

Gov. Perdue stated that he had prayed privately as did all who gathered at the capital. I know that I prayed for months…

I find it really amazing that it wasn’t until we gathered to pray in public that it actually began to rain.

I think the ground work to pray in secret was laid – don’t you?

  32. GOPeach says:

The Lord said He would never flood the earth again. Instead of bitching about what we lack –
we are to thank the Lord for the rain we have!

This is what keeps the rain coming… praise!

  33. GOPeach says:

When the praises go up …. the rain comes down!

    Let’s all sing together –

Hoverin’ by my suitcase, tryin’ to find a warm place to spend the night
Heavy rain fallin’, seems I hear your voice callin’ “It’s all right.”
A rainy night in Georgia, a rainy night in Georgia
It seems like it’s rainin’ all over the world
I feel like it’s rainin’ all over the world

Neon signs a-flashin’, taxi cabs and buses passin’ through the night
A distant moanin’ of a train seems to play a sad refrain to the night
A rainy night in Georgia, such a rainy night in Georgia
Lord, I believe it’s rainin’ all over the world
I feel like it’s rainin’ all over the world

    How many times I wondered
It still comes out the same
No matter how you look at it or think of it
It’s life and you just got to play the game

I find me a place in a box car, so I take my guitar to pass some time
Late at night when it’s hard to rest I hold your picture to my chest and I feel fine
(minor scat) But it’s a rainy night in Georgia, baby, it’s a rainy night in Georgia I
feel it’s rainin’ all over the world, kinda lonely now And it’s rainin’ all over the
    world

Oh, have you ever been lonely, people?
And you feel that it was rainin’ all over this man’s world
You’re talking ’bout rainin’, rainin’, rainin’, rainin’, rainin’, rainin’, rainin’,
    rainin’, rainin’ rainin’, rainin’, rainin’

  34. IndyInjun says:

    Peach,

Did the Lord tell Huckabee to steal $70 grand of furniture from the governor’s mansion.

You reckon, he can steal more than Hillary?

He ain’t worthy of shining the shoes of RON PAUL, who turns funds back to the treasury for his office every year!!!!

  35. Romegaguy says:

Funny how the date for the prayer fest wasnt announced until the Weather forecasters were calling for rain the following day. Maybe someone didnt believe God would hear their pleas
