Perhaps Oprah can also bring her winning strategies for running educational establishments to Mid-Georgia, as well.

Erick had it right when he was on WGST this morning: Ellis is almost gone…”PRAISE JESUS.”

I would be interested, though, in Oprah’s thoughts in assisting in a massive redevelopment project in downtown Macon to coordinate with the efforts of Mercer University already underway in that area….

I can only imagine the financial impact on Macon with a visit from The Big O.

Maybe as big as a NASCAR race? If the race was held 60 miles away, perhaps.

    Well, Maybe not…

The..Holiday Inn(?) would sell out! Nah, she would stay in Atlanta.

Maybe she can go on a shopping spree at..the..mall? Hm, Atlanta’s lookin’ a lot better.

    Feed her entourage at Wendy’s?

Macon does not have the infrastructure to benefit from such ‘royal’ visits. From small minds spring forth small ideas.

The sprucing up of the old house is a metaphor for something, Eric. Something important.

Figure it out, Number sixty-nine. Chuck Norris could.

Is the City Auditorium run and operated by the city? If so, why wouldn’t the city pay the costs for it? Granted, they shouldn’t get it all spruced up just ’cause Oprah’s rolling into to town (why again?), but if they intend on fixing it up down the road … that would seem to be the responsibility of the city.

I’m thinking Erick should be supportive of any efforts to spruce Macon up for Oprah so things will be ready for when his influential conservative buddy, Chuck Norris, comes to town.

I think Erick has bigger concerns if Chuck Norris comes to town.

Don’t think Chuck (the Norris variety) will take too kindly to Erick being more influential than him.
