The DOT Race

Is it just me, or does this remind you of the intrigue behind electing the Community Party Secretary General in Beijing or the Kremlin?

Good Lord this is nuts. You almost need a Kremlinologist to figure it out.

I think what it boils down to is whether people have balls enough to defy the Tax Jesus or not (Mike Evans is not if Dick Pettys is to be believed). And that calculation comes down to whether or not they think the Tax Jesus is as strong as I suspect. He may not be able to get his GREAT plan through the Senate. But I suspect he can get Vance Smith to the DOT. Cagle isn’t pushing as hard on his pick and none of legislators really seem too scared of Sonny.

In the end, if Tax Jesus cannot hold Mike Evans and Garland Pinholster, Vance Smith is probably toast. And right now it’s looking like these two men just might be willing to risk being smited by Tax Jesus.

Well, Commie leadership IS meeting in China as we speak, and our GA folks are all “behind closed doors.” So really we don’t know where they could be, eh?

I havent read the article yet, but having worked with Vance Smith, he would be the absolute best choice for DOT commissioner.
