Why Jim Marshall Ain’t So Vulnerable

Stuff like this.

Rep. Jim Marshall was the only Democrat in Georgia’s congressional delegation to vote against reauthorizing and expanding the State Children’s Health Insurance Program on Tuesday.
And he’s taking some heat for his vote.

Though a bipartisan push to reauthorize and expand the program by $35 billion during five years in one of the biggest congressional health-care votes since 2003 was largely successful, the measure’s supporters didn’t net the votes needed to override a likely presidential veto of the bill.

It may piss off the base of the party, but it neutralizes a lot of Republican opposition against him.
