One less mayoral candidate in Forsyth

Mr. Green is off the ballot.

Forsyth mayoral hopeful W. James Green lost a ruling to stay on the ballot when city officials declared Green is not a legal resident of the city.

Forsyth city clerk and Monroe County elections superintendent Janice Hall made the ruling late Monday based upon evidence presented in a hearing last Friday. Green was hoping to face off with current Mayor Jimmy Pace and challenger Tye Howard in November’s mayoral election.

    I fully agree.

This kind of malfeasance is deliberate, deceptive and declarative of the person’s motives and character.

One should know the requirements before considering running, and not attempt to violate or circumvent the law, in an attempt to be a lawmaker or civic “leader”.
