    How about a MCG mini-campus downtown? A Mercer School of Medicine mini-campus? MCG has a fine med school…and dentistry and nursing!

    If Grady closes, we’d have to send folks out of the state for residency training. That’s probably true, IF there are extra slots open in other states. I have heard there are 100 or more slots at Grady. That’s a lot of residencies. A lot. And let’s not forget that many of the slots are occupied by Georgians, coming from Georgia medical schools. Going out of state is going to be hard for many of these young people.

    I really don’t think the Administration understands the link between medical schools and residency opportunities.
