After a long battle with cancer, Mrs. Gail Ann Goen Hooks, wife of Senator George Hooks, died Sunday. Mrs. Hooks is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Hooks, her son George Bardin Hooks, and her brother, Roy E. Goen, Jr.
Our prayers and condolences go out to Senator George Hooks and his family.

My thoughts are with Senator Hooks and his family. He is a true statesman and a gentleman. One of my favorites in the GA Senate.

I can not give prayer, but my condolences go out as well. As a widower I know the difficulty this man will endure. This world was not made for men who lose such companionship.

I’m sad for him also. I didn’t always agree with him politically, but I know I he loved Gail and I know he has always been an old school class act. Budget chairman not withstanding…just kidding…I will pray for you and your family tonight. God bless.
