Change of Hart in Doraville?

August 31st, 2007 · 3 Comments

Senator John Douglas just shot this over to me:
Doraville City Councilman Tom Hart who has led the anti John King faction resigned from the City Council this afternoon and qualified to run for Mayor. He has totally changed his tune now and is said to support King.
The Veterans and Military Affairs meeting scheduled for [...]

DuBose Porter Responds to Perdue

August 31st, 2007 · 5 Comments

I got my hands on DuBose’s original editorial that appeared in today’s papers. Since the formatting wasn’t preserved, I thought I’d post it here in its original format. Enjoy.
From DuBose Porter, House Minority Leader, in response to Gov. Sonny Perdue on SAT Scores:
I think I may have hit a truth nerve. [...]

Welcome to the Blogosphere

To Bob Kemper.
He turns Political Insider into a duumvirate.
Now if only the vain Jim Galloway could decide on a photo that he likes for the masthead, PI would be absolutely top hole. For the less observant, since Baxter left, Galloway has used three or four head shots.
NB: The two are reporting Obama will have another [...]

Grady, Shafer and Tucker Round-up

August 30th, 2007 · 8 Comments

Here is the link to Senator Shafer’s response to Cynthia Tucker’s race baiting attack.
The blogosphere seems to have rallied to the defense of the conservative Republican…not just his fellow conservative Republicans but white liberals, black Democrats, independents and even a libertarian.
Here is a dose of Shafer’s thoughts:
Tucker has no objection to the bill on its [...]

Lunsford on the GlennTax

August 29th, 2007 · 31 Comments

State Rep. John Lunsford wrote about the GREAT plan today over at his blog:
Unfortunately, there has been some confusion about the details of the current plan to eliminate property taxes. We are not proposing to raise the sales tax or income tax rates. When HR 900 was originally written, it was intended simply [...]

Tucker: Shut up, whitey, and write the check.

August 29th, 2007 · 15 Comments

From today’s AJC:
A word to state Sen. David Shafer: Please stop helping Grady. If Shafer offers any more of his brand of assistance, the hospital will be forced to shut down.
Earlier this month, in the middle of difficult, racially charged negotiations over changing the hospital’s governing structure, Shafer, a Republican legislator who represents portions of [...]

The Greatest Picture I’ve Ever Taken

August 29th, 2007 · 4 Comments

This is from today at the Reichstag as seen from the river.

BTW, [...]
