Jones campaign now official

It’s official…Vernon Jones is a candidate for United States Senate:

Politician Vernon Jones on Saturday journeyed from his base in mostly black DeKalb County to a town square in mostly white Cobb County to announce he is seeking the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate.
“People are more concerned with who’s in touch with their values than with somebody’s color. This race is not based on race,” Jones, who is black, told the Associated Press.

Jones, 46, is campaigning to unseat Republican Sen. Saxby Chambliss. Jones described Chambliss as “a nice man” but also a “rubber stamp” for the Bush administration who is out of touch with the public’s wishes.

Jones faulted the Bush administration for its handling of the Iraq war, saying U.S. soldiers were sent there unprepared and ill-equipped for a conflict that has dragged on too long. “We have to find a dignified way to get out of Iraq,” he said.

  1. Paul Shuford says:

I don’t think Vernon Jones has a snowball’s chance, regardless of what his ideas are. He has way too much personal baggage, and his conduct in office so far has been unprofessional in the extreme. There is a big difference between getting elected in Dekalb county and running State-wide, and Jones has so much against him before he even gets out of the gate. I think that a lot of people are dissatisfied with Chambliss (especially after his ignorance of his constituents desires concerning the immigration vote), but if Vernon Jones thinks that he can take him out, he’s dreaming.

I guess VJ is as always, an oppurtunist. If he can get enough donations to run any kind of campaign, so be it. He’ll meet a bunch of nice people who will give him money, fawn over him, and talk a lot of “jibberish” about “what he will do” and “what he would have done”.

Before he gets into all that though, he needs to backtrack through all his sordid “happenings”, and explain all the mixed-up ideas he had himself, and why he did the “wrong” things instead of doing what was right and above the board.

To think we could have this facetious idiot making laws for us and the rest of the country is preposturous.

Vernon Jones for Senate, to be in Washington, D.C., you’ve got to be kidding.

All he wants is another free ride to pick up chicks.

I’m sure you have explored Vernon’s street popularity extensively. Please review some time with Vernon here if you haven’t done so already:

  4. W.A.V.E says:

Let’s hope the women out there stand up to this man to ensure he never wins a higher office then the one he has. This guy has got to be kidding. Ladies, stand up for your rights; be strong; do not back down and most importantly let your voices be heard.

    Bryant v. Jones

    pg. 47-48
Defendants Jones, Stone, Drew and Williams, on separate occasions, each told Lowe that there was a plan to discriminate against white
employees in DeKalb County, and that Defendants called the reassignment of Plaintiffs

  6. Paladin8 says:

“I think that a lot of people are dissatisfied with Chambliss (especially after his ignorance of his constituents desires concerning the immigration vote)”.

Everyone in the state wanted him to vote against it, and he did…4 times.

  7. Gmac says:

He stands absolutley no chance in a statewide race and is token opposition. He is the perfect Democrat candidate to run though, he fits their standards to a T.
