The Money Game

In the 8th, Marshall reigns supreme in the money game.

Republican congressional hopeful Rick Goddard came strong out of the fund-raising gate, but faces a long climb to match U.S. Rep. Jim Marshall’s campaign warchest.

Goddard, a retired Air Force major general who hopes to unseat Marshall in the 8th Congressional District, raised nearly $152,000 in the last few months, according to a Federal Elections Committee filing dated today. His campaign put out a news release noting that’s more than any of the other Republicans who have tried to take down Marshall, D-Ga., over the last five years.

  1. I wish he would put up a blog like other politicians do. I keep going to his site to find out what’s changed, but it’s just the same old static stuff.

He doesn’t have much detail on the key issues of our nation and where he stands with each, unless I’m just missing the details.

And about a quarter of his money comes from PACs and political committees. Also looks like a good amount of the GOP delegation has chipped in. If Mac wants in, his friends of old have some ‘splaining to do.

Goddard is wasting his money. Marshall has proven he will say anything and do anything to hold onto his seat. Like him or hate him, Marshall is a winner. Too bad for the General. And her husband too.

DutchDawg – “Too bad for the General. And her husband too”

Are you insulting a man that spent 34 years wearing your countries uniform or are you just insulting his wife?

I am looking forward to watching this race… there is finally a solid republican candidate.
