i really enjoyed listening to those but sendlebach has music when hes talkin that annoyed me.

did yall see that the athens paper endorsed pulliam????? what was that about?????? they were right about whitehead and broun though.

BILL GREENE is clearly the man for the job!!!!!

  2. Federalist says:

No, bill greene is a joke. He is a very pleasant person, but he does not understand legislative governance. If have heard him complain about legislators wanting to be executives and justices wanting to be legislators…but he wants to be a legislative judicial executive. I have not heard him say anything good about the U.S. in his entire campaign…he only talks about how everything is wrong. I am not even sure if he believes half of the things that he says. Furthermore, as a homeschooler I do not trust him with any policy concerning education. He should support the system and send his kids to public school, what incentive does he have to pass, or propose, any type of education reform? If GA wants a congressperson that will get anything done they will have to vote for Marlow. If whitehead is elected, we will have another special election before the end of the 110th congress. If Broun or Greene are elected, we will have radical, least ranking members of the minority party. The GOP will probably not get the House back for a few congresses, and Marlow will give the 10th district an opportunity to get seniority and chairmanship on some important committee or two. I really do not think that Greene will be able to do anything in Congress, and I do not see him garnering even 13% of the vote on the 19th.

  3. bowersville says:

The Athens paper only endorsed Pulliam in an effort to further split the Republican vote in an effort to promote Marlow’s chances at a runoff. The Athens paper is in similarity, the liberal AJC of NE Georgia.

  4. Federalist says:

bowersville, it is athens…any “conservative” paper in that city would bankrupt within weeks. You are probably correct about their strategy…but then again he is the only candidate with real military experience. Regardless of what Greene and Whitehead try to convey, the Iraq war is the most important issue in this campaign. I can say, as a democrat too, that I trust Pulliam with representing the district on the war front,…not because of his service, but his ideas about what needs to be done are very well reasoned. On the otherside, I trust Marlow as well. He supports passing the recommendations of the Iraq study group, and that is another sound policy proposal.

  5. Federalist says:

What do you have against the ISG, Jeff? Last time it came up, you just asked me to recite the report and gave no commentary of your own.

  6. Federalist says:

As far as I see, it stated the obvious…something that was forgotten somewhere between the invasion and the fall of saddam.

  7. bowersville says:

Why do you trust Pulliam just because he’s military? H*ll, FDR wasn’t military.

Besides, the last bastion of liberalism is the print media….in Athens/NYC/Atlanta.

  8. Federalist says:

Did you read what I wrote bowersville? No, you did not. “I trust Pulliam with representing the district on the war front,…not because of his service, but his ideas about what needs to be done are very well reasoned.” I have a hard time assigning credibility to anyone with reading comprehension skills as low as yours.

  9. Federalist says:

The last bastion of liberalism is not Athens/NYC/Atlanta. Liberalism is still alive, but not in full swing. There has been an “assault on reason” ever since the evangelical right thought it proper to enter into politics. Read about classic liberalism before making prejudice remarks bowersville. Dr. Terrence Ball and Dr. Richard Dagger have quite a few excellent articles and books about what liberalism is, you may be shocked to find out you have been lied to by the radical right wing rhetoriticians.

  10. bowersville says:

Then what are Pulliam’s ideas of what needs to be done that are well reasoned?

As far as you assigning me credibility…who cares?

  11. bowersville says:

I’ve been lied to by the right wing rhetoricians?…who the h#ll are you to believe I read behind any fools? INCLUDING you.

  12. Federalist says:

Go to his website if you do not know, or get engaged in this election. There have been forums almost every week,…I am assuming you live in the District (bowersville is in it). Military experience does not = good war strategy…Eisenhower and Korea is a good example of a foreign policy blunder.

  13. Holly says:

The latest forum was in Habersham County. Did anyone here attend that? I’d heard good things, but was not able to go.

  14. bowersville says:

I live in the district and I’m voting WHITEHEAD. The problem is you can’t articulate Pulliam’s “well reasoned positions.” Or you flat don’t agree with them and you’re shooting a line to add confusion for weak minds so they’ll vote for Marlow.

  15. Holly says:

I’m from the 10th (we al know that), and I’m a Whitehead kid, too. I’ll be the first to tell you that I like Nate Pulliam, and I think he’s smart.

That said, I’m going to disagree with Federalist a bit here. The reason people trust him on the Iraq issue is because of his service. Because he was in Iraq, he understands the issue better than those of us who have never been. It’s the difference in Jeff and I speaking on the issue, to put it in Peach Pundit terms. Honestly, he’s more credible by default.

Now, people can say it’s not because of Nate’s service that they trust him, but they’re failing to consider the fact that he understands the problem so well because of his service, which gave him the firsthand knowledge.
