Qualifying in Macon is Over

I am unopposed. It is now time to help those who have opposition.

I’ll be supporting Keith Moffett, Larry Schlesinger, and Miriam Paris β€” three fantastic people who will be fantastic assets on City Council.

By the way, this is shameless and self serving, but I actually do need some cash for the campaign. We don’t ask for much around here, but I could use some help. Thank you.

Congratulations Erick (or my condolences). There are two ways to run; scared and unopposed. You got the better of the two.

  2. Congrats on no opposition, alphabetically:

Erick, Lauren, & Nancy. And special thanks to Nancy for previously supporting the Ward Five Neighborhood Watch efforts…

WE have some Planning and re-Zoning work to do in Ward Five. When can we all meet at Planning and Zoning for our first work session?

  3. Congrats Erick, and you’re correct, there are no Republican v Democrat on the local level. However, when a community is taxed to the eyeballs it makes no fiscal sense to plow a community into further debt to fund a hotel.

There needs to be a systematic re-invention of our local government. From my short stint on the Board of Assessors I can attest to the universal dysfunctionality in our community. Before committing to that type of project, the departments need to have the appropriate oversight and vision established. There is no vision.

Maurice is correct! We have been taxed to death at the city and county level to have the County Commission and City Council vote to seize our money by force to spend on non essential items like Musuems,Arts Groups, and other agencies that have nothing to do with police, fire, courts,or roads which are the only legitimate government expenditures at the local level. These Marxists like Joe Allen are despicable and worthy of condemnation. Theft is theft whether legal or not and these thieves have the gall to raise our property taxes while redistributing 10 million dollars to 24 agencies that have nothing to do with police, fire, courts,or roads? Time for a Bibb County Tea Party. They say these agencies improve our quality of life? How? By stealing money we could use to buy gas, educate our kids, pay our bills, save for our retirement,etc..? What a bunch of scoundrels and thieves!
