No bias at You Tube?

SpaceyG mentioned how some Conservatives see bias at You Tube. Perhaps that thought comes from the fact that Michelle Malkin has had videos banned while this video showing Palestinian girls dressed as suicide bombers with bloody hands remains. This is by no means the only pro-Hamas video on You Tude.

Hat Tip: Little Green Footballs.

  1. SpaceyG says:

Certainly brings up some interesting issues… about what levels of sicko goulish blood-lust violence-exploitation propogandizing, or the exploitation of children via violence-glorification interpretive dance, are or are not acceptable to the folks at YouTube… and who decides? Do they have a committee with an established ethics code? BTF outta me. But I’d like to know more about who really is the keeper of the gate for YouTube Nation.

  2. RuralDem says:

    Yeah there’s obviously that bias.

I mean, you can go on there and find music videos by popular artist a even though the RIAA or the band asked for the video to be yanked. Yet popular artist b’s videos were yanked immediately.

I’ll venture to say that instead of this bias against Republicans, it’s more than likely just the fact that the people who run YouTube are human.

    Surely not.

  3. buzzbrockway says:

The You Tube Terms of Use says you cannot:

    (iii) submit material that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, libelous, threatening, pornographic, harassing, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive, or encourages conduct that would be considered a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, violate any law, or is otherwise inappropriate;

It’s tough to police given the volume of videos uploaded, but a consistent application of the terms of uses is needed.

I’m all for free speech and allowing crazy stuff like “some” Hamas propaganda to stay on You Tube – how better to expose groups like that for what they are. Consistency is the key, IMHO.

  4. RuralDem says:

They cannot police every single video on there.

It seems to me that you’re just reaching for something that is not there.

If they were biased against Republicans, I seriously doubt you’d find Republican candidates posting videos and other Republican stuff on there.

  5. SpaceyG says:

I agree BuzzBrockway… would like to, of course, see for myself the Malkin Productions video the YouTube committee censored… I prefer to pass judgement, in good conscience, about creative materials I have actually viewed, read, witnessed, etc. Is it available elsewhere?

And while I found the Hamas video deeply offensive and repulsive, I suspect it brought tears of joy to viewers from other, uh, cultures.

And yes, consistency is surely prized and desired, if not always possible.

  6. buzzbrockway says:

The guy who posted the video I linked to has 186 videos posted, not all as sick as the one I linked to, but all propaganda. This guy is easy to find and should be known to the You Tube folks.

  7. SpaceyG says:

Nevermind… I see the Malkin Productions spectacular is available on her site. Guess that means I’ll have to hang out there to actually see it. Oh dear…. the things I must suffer through to fully understand the issues that impact out lives…

  8. RuralDem says:

Do you realize how many users and videos are on YouTube?

The supposed bias is not there. Contrary to your belief, not every media outlet is against Republicans.

  9. buzzbrockway says:

I don’t think that RuralDem. We have Fox News ya know. 😉

Look, all I’m asking for is consistency over at You Tube. I know it’s not easy, but in the immortal words of Super Chicken “you knew the job dangerous when you took it.”

  10. whitemalevoters says:

Maybe conservatives should be focusing on the well-being of white male voters instead of focusing on bias on a stupid video site.

  11. dingleberry says:

OR maybe they should have focused on upholding conservative principles for the past 6 years, rather than focusing on bias at all.

Conservatives want to blame everyone but themeselves for the inadequacy that big-government, psuedo-christian conservatism has brought to America.

But hey, go on blaming the “liberal media”, the “activist judges”, the “liberal youtube”…go on. Have your fun, keep losing elections and maybe some REAL conservatives will step up. But I doubt it.

  12. Bill Simon says:

Nah…”real conservatives” are too busy working and earning a living. Thus the reason why we have such a sh**ty result in Washington, D.C.

  13. Terran1212 says:

“This is by no means the only pro-Hamas video on You Tude.”

Don’t pretend you understand the Palestinians, keyboard-geographer.

  14. Donkey Kong says:

“Don’t pretend you understand the Palestinians, keyboard-geographer.”

Yes, Terran, slipping past Israeli military forces to slaughter innocent women and children COULDN’T be wrong. After all, those damn 8 year old girls, if you aren’t paying attention, might try to club you with the latest Barbie Diva.
