Rep. Hank Johnson Gets ‘r Done

Georgia’s 4th Congressional rep, Hank Johnson (D), exudes leadership, focus and skill as he commands this House Judiciary Committee grilling of Monica Goodling in the ongoing partisan hiring/firing scandal up there at the Justice Department. The 4th Congressional is finally getting their money’s worth with McKinney out of there and Johnson in. This guy’s got the right stuff.

Hello Georgia Democrats… knock knock. Anybody home??? Could Rep. Johnson be the rising political star, of the kind Dems here so desperately need, based on his Judiciary Committee work? Consider Vernon Jones’ ADD character up against Johnson’s cool, calm, commanding and, again, FOCUSED presence, Vernon J. wouldn’t stand a chance — if, and I’m just saying if, there was ever to be a Jones vs. Johnson kinda race for… whatever.

Tune into YouTube to see Johnson in action for yourself.

It is about time that we have some representation here in the South that will stand up to the Bush/Cheney regime.

SpaceyG May 24, 2007 at 10:21 am

Johnson seems man enough to do it.

Great post. Hank is doing a fantastic job representing the district. I can’t see anyone challenging him next time around that would have a chance of un-seating him.

Those good people in the 4th can sleep easy at night knowing they elected a genuine leader.

Perhaps his calm, almost Zen-like demeanor is due to the fact that he’s a Bhuddist…

Federalist May 24, 2007 at 3:03 pm

is he really a bhuddist?

Federalist May 24, 2007 at 3:05 pm

wow, he is. How interesting.

griftdrift May 24, 2007 at 3:08 pm

He is. And for the first time in years I can proudly say I live in the 4th.

i thought a rumor had/has been floating around that jones might challenge johnson if his senate race does not gain traction–i am not imagining that am i?

spaceygracey May 24, 2007 at 3:28 pm

I hope you are DrJ… but given Vernon’s all-over-the-placeness, he very well could do something foolish like that.

Oh my goodness, it’s double the trouble! Spacey has two usernames! :-D

DaleDawg May 24, 2007 at 10:25 pm

Hank’s doing a great job. He’s the proverbial workhorse rather than the showhorse–just what the Fightin’ Fourth needed!

Great post Spacey. Thanks.

Yeah, Hank’s doing a great job, too bad he wasn’t around to grill Janet Reno for firing 93 Federal Prosecutors, gassing and burning innocent women and children at Waco and taking a child out of the arms of it’s mother and sending him back to Castro.

I guess the only way Alberto can save himself, is to take a page from Reno’s playbook, send the tanks and APCs into neighborhoods that are predominately illegal, seize an anchor baby, send the mom across the border and fire all the Federal Prosecutors and say W made me do it, and while you’re at it Alberto, pick out the corporate ogre of the day and prosecute (big oil).

Federalist May 25, 2007 at 3:22 pm

hey those firings were fine, the 93 fed. prosecs. were leaving anyway. Alberto has no respect for the law, that is why they appointed so many morons from Regents U. Law. Those women and children at Waco were terrorists…Bush would have done the same.

bowersville May 25, 2007 at 3:27 pm

Following that logic, maybe we should eliminate the women and children terrorist in Iraq, with you’re consent of course.

Federalist May 25, 2007 at 3:51 pm

if they are terrorists, sure. Burden of proof is on the state though, otherwise it is murder (and you can’t kill a kid, then put a grenade in his/her hand)

bowersville May 25, 2007 at 4:30 pm

So how many of those charred bodies of terrorist women and children at Waco had grenades (or any weapon) in his/her hand?

If was not all of them, you have defeated your own point of debate.

Federalist May 25, 2007 at 4:55 pm

they harbored terrorists as well, no distinction will be made between those who commit terrorist acts and those who harbor terrorists

bowersville May 25, 2007 at 5:02 pm

What do think about the idea of a neutron bomb being used in Iraq?

It will not do much in the way of environmental damage and it will certainly eliminate those harboring terrorist.

Federalist May 25, 2007 at 5:14 pm

it will also kill an assload of innocent people. so no, i do not approve. We are not dealing with a military or a sovereign nation in this war. Dropping 12 nukes even, would only escalate this conflict further. I would also suspect it would endanger the continental US. There are well of 50000 loose nukes floating around the former soviet states, I have no doubt that al-Qaida has a few. MAD. While they may not have enough to oblitereate the US, the destruction and loss of life would not be acceptable.

Federalist,

Truly, you are now talking out of your — about Waco. Apparently you have read NOTHING but the Clinton-Reno version of what happened and what was going on in the camp.

The women were both infatuated and frightened of David Koresh, and the children were just that, children. Except for the female children, of course, who were sexually molested by Koresh and his fellow male “leaders.”

“Federalist” = “Dickwad”
