rightofcenter, is it too much to ask that we just not have corrupt leaders, period? Why does it have to be "you're giving the opponent a victory if you don't shove our guy's corruption under the rug"?

How does anybody win that way?

And rightofcenter, you are off target.

As long as lying GOP incumbents are in place, they stand in the way of reform, conservative principles, and our interests.

If it takes voting for a Dem to clear them out SO BE IT.

The SHAME is that rightofcenter voters have no principles to uphold and lick the boots of the powerful.

YOU are an enabler of the corruption.

injun,
The logic of you and your ilk escapes me. You'd rather have a Dem in office than Saxby. That's swell......someone to vote in favor of our next Democratic president's judicial appointments.

A pox on both of your houses....

"The actual ballot will be a single column as is familiar to all Georgia voters."

I've seen this theme post of "Republicans eating their young" a few times now and am trying to understand the logic. You state it as if it's somehow admirable that the Democrats never question their leadership's lack of ethics or conflicts in policy.

Perhaps it's because Democrats don't actually discuss ideas.

I know not. I just know that America is in unimaginable danger and will fall like Rome, if we don't find the courage to dump these imposters ourselves.

If we don't oppose them, the Republican party is certain to be blown out in 2008, nearly to the point of extinction.

A strong Dem will take Chambliss out, but having a Dem win is only slightly more preferable than having the imposter Saxby back for an unimaginably long 6 years.

If we conservatives blindly fall in behind him, just what are we?

From what we were told, the worker program does not create a special path to citizenship. What it creates is a migrant worker visa, but they get no special consideration for pending I-485s. Applicants would still have to file I-485s from their home countries, but then are eligible for the Z visa.

What I don't understand is how will this new Z visa be different from the I-129 and I-140?

The biggest problem here is that there is no bill yet, so no one knows what's actually in it. Both Isakson and Chambliss promised not to vote for anything they hadn't seen.

Was the booing because of the immigration bill or that Chambliss is such a miserable excuse for a conservative?

Booing is he first step. We need to fit it to a 'T' and give him the booT!

Maurice -

Better add construction, landscaping, food service, hospitality/hotel service, janitors and a long list of others to the named industries needing a labor force. Saxby is right. Those that were so mature to boo our senior senator are hopelessly ignorant of reality.

There is a problem with illegal immigration, however, he's absolutely correct. Agribusiness relies on immigrant labor. They're doing work no one else will. But it makes great politics for those who want to get on a bandwagon and make some noise.
