It means that they love the troops and want to bring them home. UGA 2006, not every immigration bill has failed. After we dropped the quota system things got all screwed up. This does not mean that I favored the quota system, it was a very racist use of the law. Something needs to be done though. Liberalize the whole process, getting residency and paying taxes should be easier than getting a library card. The Federalist, when discussing issues of faction made an interesting point. Any attempt to eliminate the causes of a particular issue involving democracy will only end in tyranny and the oppression of man's natural rights. The key is to control the effects, and with the immigration issue this is not difficult, but people are going to have to deal with capitalism and it scares them. The U.S. is the greatest nation in the history of the universe, and this is not an issue bigger than America. It can be solved, but it is going to require the tolerance of the people...not the injustice or tyranny that we have heard from the Minutemen and about half of the GOP and probably a quarter of the Dems.

"why do you value illegal aliens more than our troops"

seriously, are we to this point? If Congress votes on anything but a bill that the President has already vetoed does that mean they hate the troops?

Erick,
So are you now questioning the patriotism and loyalty to our troops of Senator Chambliss and President Bush? The Democrats are looking better all the time.

Every immigration bill that has been enacted by the federal government has been a total failure that has increased the number of illegal aliens in this country. This bill will be no different. I dont trust the President on this, his record of failure speaks loudly in this and other areas.
