I’m guessing you need to be 32 +/- 7 years to get the Puck reference.

Props to Rep. Ehrhart for knowing his Shakespeare.

I’m 22 and Puck was becoming famous when I was in sixth grade. I have no idea how I would have survived middle school without MTV.

I’m 28, so definitely in the target age range. I’m just one of those people who cannot watch MTV.

I got a statement from Westmoreland’s offices on this:

When I heard yesterday that the Democratic leadership was considering changing the House rules that have served this institution since 1822, I worked closely with my friend from Georgia Tom Price to just absolutely shut the House down until the Democrats backed down. Basically, as the minority in the House, we Republicans have very little power to affect legislation. One of the few tools at our disposal is the “Motion to Recommit” on the floor. It allows Republicans to make suggestions to improve bills right before they are passed by the House. The Democrats were trying to limit our ability to improve their bills. Congressman Price and I stood together – and I can promise you were getting some nasty looks and comments from the Democrats on the floor – and brought the House to a standstill. We stayed on the floor all day and called procedural votes every 30 minutes until the Democrats finally caved in on their power grab. We had to let them know, we’re not pushovers. If they want a fight, they’ll get one.
