Tondee’s Tavern points out Scott Nichols has qualified in State Senate District 24 to succeed Jim Whitehead. He’ll be up against a bevy of Republicans.
Nichols, by the way, is currently the Columbia County Democratic Chairman. That raises a question for me. How often does the local party chair run for office? It seems like I’ve heard of more Democratic party chairs doing that lately than Republican ones. That’s not intended to be any sort of partisan statement other than this seems to be my impression. If that’s actually true, I wonder why.
