With construction already under way, a company spokeswoman and Houston County development officials acknowledged publicly for the first time Wednesday a $125 million expansion at Frito-Lay, including a 100,000-square-foot expansion of the bakery.The Houston County Development Authority approved Wednesday a resolution to support the expansion, which would bring about 80 new jobs, said Morgan Law, the authority’s executive director.The snack-food maker currently employs about 1,200 people, Law said. The plant, located on Ga. 247 just south of Kathleen, is one of Houston County’s largest employers.
