Maybe She’ll Outsource Some City Jobs While She’s There

At least it would save some money.

Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin boarded a Korean Air 747 bound for Seoul on Sunday as she and a delegation representing two dozen Georgia businesses began a nine-day economic development trip that will take them to six cities in three countries.

The trip is billed as a way to say “thank you” to companies in South Korea, Japan and Taiwan already doing business in the state as well as a not-so-subtle mission to encourage them to expand operations here.

WaySouth Media, Inc. must have accidentally deleted the email inviting us (me) along for that economic development ride. Then again, WaySouth Media Inc. would have just set up a live global broadcast, free, on ustream.tv.
