Doesn’t today show why Georgia Senators should not have a four year term?

    I don’t understand Sonny’s objection to the “process” for the property tax cut. The process was far more open and deliberative than the one where he and his lawyer, Larry O’Neal, cooked up Sonny’s 100k secret back-dated tax cut.

    No, no it doesn’t. With staggered four year terms, we could cut in half the number of Senators worrying about politics today.

    SR 279 (4 year terms) had a House Second Read on March 20th. I guess it went nowhere since it didn’t include House Members. Most worrisome, it did have 53 of 56 Senators co-sponsoring.

    Agreeing with Demonbeck here. the 4-year terms would relieve state reps from the constant pressure of the election cycle, which might actually give them some time to govern.
