April 24-26

That’s the qualifying period for the 10th CD race. How many of the 3,543,563,345,765 announced candidates will actually pony up the $4,950 it will take to reserve a spot on the ballot for June 19?

Any guesses?

Just found this from yesterday’s Augusta Chronicle:

“Poteet changes mind on 10th District seat

Announced 10th District Congressional candidate Jackie Poteet won’t seek the seat, she said Wednesday.

Ms. Poteet had said earlier that she would seek the seat vacated after the death of congressman Charlie Norwood.

She gave no reason for her decision not to be on the ballot in the June 19 special election.”
