Legislator hospitalized

State Rep. John Lunsford (R-McDonough) is in the hospital due to chest pains, which were caused by a heart blockage. He is supposed to be transferred to from Newton Medical Center to Crawford Long at some point today.

I gave him a call early this morning. He seemed to be doing fine. Remember to keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

[UPDATE] Rep. Davis spoke with Lunsford’s daughter and things look good. There is a small blockage, but doctors believe they can handle the problem without performing a bypass. He should be home by the end of the week.
