Fred Thompson tied for second in the Cherokee County GOP Straw Poll this weekend — Gingrich was first with Rudy and Fred in second place. The catch is that Thompson was not on the ballot — people wrote him in. No wonder the other campaigns are starting to get nervous.

Hmmm…another signer of McCain-Feingold gets a good showing. I wonder if Fred’s follwers even know his history.

Yes Fred Thompson believed in McCain-Feingold. I am curious what he think of what it became and if he thinks it needs reform?
I can for give him for one error. The other candidates have to many to forgive.
I support Fred Thompson.

Anyone know who won? Sheila or Linda?

Sheila Auffrey is the new chair.
Fred Thompson was left off the straw poll, but the convention chair announced the omission and noted that his name could be submitted as a write-in.
Results:
Newt Gingrich 32
Rudy Guiliani 16
Fred Thompson 15
John McCain 7
Others received less than 3
