Georgia House: Call A Phone Sex Line[UPDATED]

The number to reach the Georgia House Public Information Office is listed here. The number is 1-800-282-5800. I was calling to ask when the legislature decided to start shafting voters by making them pay Lexis to see the Georgia Code.

Turns out the phone number is no longer operated by the House. It is instead an adult chat line. But, it was still on the House website today.

I was kind enough to call the Speaker’s Office and let him know they probably ought to take that number down. By the time you read this, they might have done so. I did keep a screenshot, which you can see here.

UPDATED: The site has been fixed. I’m told that the House has not had an 800 number for a couple of years. As frequently happens, the number was not being used by constituents frequently enough to warrant keeping it. Unfortunately, the page linked to above is on a shared page of the Legislature’s site. Anyone who goes to the House site can see the tremendous work that’s been done on updating that site. This little phone number on one little link on a shared page off the front page of the site got overlooked.

Erick, I thought Lexis was offering the service for free. Of course I do not like Lexis’ interface and preferred the old SOS site for looking up code.
