Macon Political Update

Yeah, yeah, I know you are all interested, but cut me a break. I live here and need an outlet.

Former Representative Robert Reichert is running for Mayor.

Senate Minority Leader Robert Brown is also running, but won’t actually announce until the session ends because of some perception that he may be viewed as a lame duck. Nonetheless, I’ll confirm right now that he is running for Mayor of Macon.

Lance Randall is running.

Anita Ponder is running.

Henry Ficklin is running, perhaps.

Everyone is waiting on Kirby Godsey to make up his mind. By the first of next week we should know one way or the other.

I’m not from Macon, so this may be a really stupid question, but, is Lance Randall related to Rep. Nikki Randall.

I hereby announce that I am moving to Macon, and that I am running for Mayor of Macon (“I’ll be makin’ changes”).

Erick, have are there any other requirements I must satisfy in order to run?

  3. RuralDem says:

Is Godsey a Democrat? Just wondering because I assumed he was a Republican until I read an article on WMAZ where the wording made me wonder if he’s a Democrat.

  4. Erick, get out of your pajamas, shave, get a haircut and throw your shoe into the ring. There is going to be more humility from this race than you would ever find on the front pew of a ____________… (Insert religious preference)

  5. Erick says:

Victor, you got that right. Another reason to stay out of it.

RuralDem, Dr. Godsey would not call himself a Republican, I’m pretty sure of it.
