Congrats to Jane Kidd

Welcome to the top of the DPG food chain. Well done and good luck in your new position.

Apparently, the first two sentences were too obtuse for some. Yes, Jane Kidd has now succeeded Bobby Kahn as Democratic Party Chair.

  1. Mad Dog says:

I have always been proud to be a Democrat.

I was proud to be there today.

Jim and Carol were my picks.

Jane will do very well, I’m sure.

  2. GeorgiaProgressive says:

Jane Kidd will do an amazing job as Chair. It was a very lively crowd, lots of non-voting members present and a great process. Jane delivered one of her best speeches yet and looked great in an all blue suit skirt.

It will become a very different state in the coming years politically 🙂 Look out…

  3. Mike Hauncho says:

just a reminder to those of you who drink. Today is Saturday and if you need alcohol for tomorrow you still have 6 hours and 20 minutes to get it. If you don’t get it by then don’t complain on Monday.

  4. commonsense says:

Jane’s only going to be the Chair for two years at which point Bill Cowsert’s gonna go to his brother in law and get the district redrawn.

  5. GeorgiaProgressive says:

Whew, good thing it’s a four year term! Cowsert can’t touch her this time, not even with the Republicans in power of everything, she’s safe and in power 🙂

  6. SevenHillsDem says:

With Jane Kidd as Chair and Mike Thurmond as First Vice Chair, the party is poised to hold its own in the coming election cycles. We have two competent and good leaders to move us forward.

  7. gatormathis says:

Dang! I can’t beleive they put a Kidd in charge of such a large organization.

People already disparage our kid Nick for doing all the things he does at his age.

Oh well, as they say, “Old age and treachery will overcome youth and inexperience every time”.

  8. Bo-Dawg says:

Jane rocks! A (democratic) woman knows how to do it best-organize, energize, and vitalize the DPG.
Been over 30 years-it’s a great start to a great sweep in 2008-2010

  9. Bill Simon says:

Jane delivered one of her best speeches yet and looked great in an all blue suit skirt.

Gosh, with comments like this from GeorgiaProgressive, I cannot imagine where the media gets the idea to comment on Nancy Pelosi’s attire…

  10. GeorgiaProgressive says:

I think Nancy usually is looking sharp as well. All the woman of the DPG elections were looking good though, I just meant it was a “perfect picture” of the great leadership for the new Democratic Party.

    But thanks for bein witty…

  11. GeorgiaProgressive says:

It’s all about the power outfits, whether it’s men’s suits or women’s. Hillary Clinton’s got the power look down, ever walk into her Senate office and compare her and her staff to other Senators and their staff – clear difference, especially when Trent Lott’s office was down the hall (not sure if he still is). Anyway, Jane showed it off as well yesterday. But that’s it from me about that.

  12. ColinATL says:

Jane is a fantastic choice for state party chair! You know she’s the daughter of former Georgia Gov. Vandiver.
