The people who vote for DOT board members are the state reps and senators whose district lie within or overlap the congressional district.

No the votes are not public. There was a possiblility at least at one point this session of the assembly voting to make their vote public or to keep it in the dark. It is simply by rule that their vote isn’t public. As far as I know, they didn’t change it to make their vote public.

I mean why would they, all those evil republicans hate sunshine anyways…

So exactly who votes during the DOT Board elections? Do the State Senators and State Representatives in each Congressional District vote?

I do not know Mr. Langdale, but I do know Mr. Edwards and he is a class act and overall a great guy. He’s always been a fighter for rural Georgia.

Are the votes for these elections made public? I am interested in seeing who voted for who.

Fishtail don’t try to make something out of nothing… I don’t think you are a lameduck until 15th or 16th day of your first session of your re-election (by 20%)…. or is it later than that…

anyways, of course Perdue wants someone besides Langdale, he supported Cox, and then Taylor, but Bill has helped out the district legislators more so than Sonny…

Unreported in the media thus far, Sonny Perdue today suffered his first defeat of the Legislative session. He and his top advisers, especially his chief Jim Lietnz, lobbyied strenulously on behalf of Ward Edwards to defeat Bill Langdale for the DOT Board in the 2nd District. Perdue and his minions were soundly defeated by Langdale in quite a show of support from south Georgia legislators, supposedly Perdue’s stronghold. Does this portend a lame-duck administration’s feeble first efforts as Governor Greedy faces an IRS investigation of his illegal real estate transactions? Sometimes the troops on the ground are the first to whiff a decaying carcass…..
