Cagle gets down.

Gotta love this photo from the AJC.

Here’s the article about Cagle’s big bash last night.

The lieutenant governor-elect spoke to reporters just before an unprecedented $200,000 bash to thank supporters — paid for with money contributed to his transition committee. Entertainment ranged from an African-American college-style drumline to country music singer Travis Tritt.

The lieutenant governor-elect refused to say whether he had his eye on the Governor’s Mansion in 2010. But Eagle 106.7 FM morning man Rhubarb Jones, who helped emcee the event, wasn’t so shy.

“In four years, we’re going to have this party on West Paces Ferry Road,” Jones shouted to a cheering crowd.

Any eyewitness reports?

  1. Mike Hauncho says:

I think the older Republican crowd was in for a surprise and did not know what to think of Diana De Garmo and Shawn Mullins as most of the attendees left before Travis Tritt came out. He put on a great show and it was a lot of fun. He has a much better lineup than Sonny does. Cagle got up there and tried to dance and he proved that white men cant dance.

  2. mercergirl says:

Damn…. I wanted to go- had tickets and everything but got married over the weekend so I couldn’t. 🙁

  3. Jas says:

Had a great time, but the only complaint was that if you’re going to have a black tie event, don’t make it a seated concert.

  4. Demonbeck says:

Demonbeck was there and had a great time. Next time, though, get rid of the seats and tell the GSP to let the kids dance in front of the stage.
