What has happened to the chivalry and the informal vows of omerata of our elected leaders? In the not too distant past, there was an unspoken agreement among Democratic and Republican legislators that "what happens in Atlanta stays in Atlanta." The Speaker is not the only legislative leader who has some exposure to this type of thing. Politics is Hollywood for ugly people and most of these average-looking men would not get a second glance from an attractive woman were it not for the political power they wield, but I must admit, I look forward to seeing the photos in the AJC, if they exist. My bet is that he likes blondes.

Erick, I am sick and tired of conservatives bashing the "MSM" when something bad happens a conservative.

Do you know that the AJC has intended to make this story a hit piece? Or is it easier to scream "bias" and try to kill the messenger?

Perhaps the AJC figured a Sunday printing would allow for greater readers and thus, more money, rather than we will just try to take down Speaker Richardson.

If they run it on Sunday, the rumor goes, we can expect a conservative challenge to the Speaker from Rep. Burkhalter, which I hear would make the Senate GOP very happy

Just out of curiosity, by more "conservative", do you mean more of a social totalitarian and less of a fiscal hawk? Or are you refering to the traditional definition which would mean he could care less about what goes on in our bedrooms and is more of a fiscal hawk?

All sources say the AJC has some photographs of the Speaker — wholly personal in nature and not at all related to the performance of his duties in office — but, because it is Glenn Richardson, his personal life is public it seems.

Excuse me, but ROTFLMAO!!1!!!

Sorry, but again I am going to call bullshit on you. Republicans don't ever get to complain about dragging people's personal lives into politics after what was done to Bill Clinton.

Yes, his personal life is public, but that was the price associated with Richardson's political rise in the GOP, a party that preaches the highest moral and ethical standards.

We should not hold him to a lower measure than Bill Clinton or Max Cleland, now, should we?

The impending firestorm and suspicions that the AJC will wait to pounce might just prompt a preemptive challenge to the Speaker.

Why can't our leaders find some element of self control and RESTRAIN THEMSELVES?

It becomes clearer every day why government is totally unconstrained and out of control.

They PARTY on, forgetting the people who send them, preferring one or two who send them allright - send them over the edge.

I've heard rumors.

These rumors have compared the Speaker to J. Edgar Hoover. The Speaker has been using his own set of photos and secret files for years.

It only seems fair that someone treats him the same way. In public.

Anyway, I just wanna see the pictures. Wooohooooo!

The rumors have been around for a long time. Shipp mentioned something this week.

Sorry for not posting a link the MDJ site was down. It was mentioned in GPD wrap-up on Wed.

Jan 3, 2007 – Marietta Daily Journal, Gwinnett Daily Post, Athens Banner-Herald - OP-ED/COLUMN
Shipp: Chair Change for Democrats...and the Speaker's in hot water
Bill Shipp writes, Atlanta lawyer Bobby Kahn, a leading scapegoat for the Democrats' string of recent ballot-box catastrophes, ends his nearly three-year tenure as state party chair with the election of a new chairperson on Jan. 27. A glance at possible successors may cause a few Kahn haters to long for a return to the days of the brusque, razor-tongued strategist. Here's the roster of candidates for state Democratic chair. Also, other bytes and bits at the beginning of 2007: A Republican rebellion is brewing in the House against Speaker Glenn Richardson, whose personal conduct has raised eyebrows in political circles across the state.
