Party With the Governor

You too can get sloppy drunk celebrating the Governor’s inauguration.

Gov. Sonny Perdue will begin the first day of his second term with a prayer and end it with a party.

Perdue, incoming Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle and Georgia’s other constitutional officers will be sworn in on Jan. 8 at the Philips Arena in downtown Atlanta.

Twenty-thousand invitations have gone out for the afternoon swearing-in ceremony and the evening’s black-tie-optional party.

I have two tickets to the Inaugural Ball I need to unload. I also have some extra tickets to the swearing in ceremony. You Democrats out there may want to come to the swearing in since all Constitutional officers will be sworn in.

I believe Mike Thurmond, Thurbert Baker, and Tommy Irvin deserve a great celebration as much as Sonny Purdue, Casey Cagle, and Karen Handel does. It sounds like a great event

I believe Mike Thurmond, Thurbert Baker, and Tommy Irvin deserve a great celebration…

    Tommy Irvin can’t celebrate.

I doubt he even knows he was re-elected… or, for that matter, that he even ran for anything.

“Who am I? What am I doing here? This isn’t the Klan meeting!”

Irvin is so old school and from such a forgotten era he doesn’t realize how un-politically correct he’s become. He’s the kind of person who refers to African-Americans as “colored people” in an endearing way simply because that’s what he and his old pal Lester Maddox grew up calling them.

Oh these things are always boring for the most part. The only reason I went to the celebration in ’02 was because Ray Charles (Peace Be Upon Him) was playing the party.
