Reducing Macon

This sounds like excellent news — if it can pass.

Macon city officials tonight will consider asking the state to pare the City Council from 15 members to 11.

The specifics of how or when the change would go into effect are still unclear, as the trim requires a member of the local legislative delegation to amend the city charter through the General Assembly. But, at an agenda-setting meeting Monday, council members there voiced no opposition to the plan.

I have no opposition either, especially with Mullis leaving all the time.

Tonight should be an interesting meeting, they will also be addressing the panhandling ordinance. So this means that hopefully a lot of people will be there. 🙂
