From the AJC:
A press release on Norwood’s Web site announced Tuesday that doctors treating the Augusta Republican, who received a right lung transplant in October 2004, had found a small tumor blocking his bile ducts.
The press release said Norwood, 65, who last year underwent surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from his non-functioning left lung, was receiving chemotherapy at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax, Va., in suburban Washington. He is expected to remain there until the end of the week.
“I fully anticipate being back to full strength by the time the 110th Congress convenes in January,” Norwood said in a statement.
We wish him a speedy recovery.
